The Nikon Coolpix L18 Digital Camera provides simple operation with a compact and stylish camera body. The 8.0 megapixel resolution combined with the high quality 3x Nikkor-Zoom lens produces beautiful photographs while its intuitive operation ensures error-free command over the camera's features & functions. The large 3" LCD display offers a bright image that is a pleasure to view, even outdoors. The body itself assures a solid grip with a balance of flowing surfaces contrasted by sharp edge lines.

Extended light sensitivity as high as ISO 1600 prevents blurred shots in lower light, or when capturing fast-moving subjects. There is even an Easy Auto mode where users can turn on the camera and shoot without worrying about any settings - or users can access 14 different scene modes and three movie modes to get the best results to match the moment.

Powered by Nikon's exclusive EXPEED image processing engine, the Coolpix L18 features a selection of three innovative functions that provide the ability to actually improve the quality of images within the camera. Face-priority AF automatically finds, then focuses on people's faces for crisp, clear results time after time. In-Camera Red-Eye Fix automatically compensates to help eradicate traces of the annoying red-eye effect that can sometimes be encountered during flash photography. And D-Lighting can be applied to improve underexposed images or shots taken with too much backlight. D-Lighting automatically creates a copy of the image with detail added where necessary, but with well-exposed areas left completely untouched.

• 8.0 Megapixel Resolution: The Coolpix L18 can produce images with an impressively 8.0 megapixel resolution to deliver pictures with true-to-life color and pleasing details. What's more, with this high resolution, images can be significantly enlarged and still look absolutely stunning.

• High Quality 3x Optical Zoom-Nikkor Lens: The Zoom Nikkor glass lens of the Coolpix L18 produces incredibly sharp, clear images; while the Macro capability of the lens lets you focus as close as 5.9 inches. In addition, there is a 4x Digital zoom providing a combined zoom capability of 12x.

• Anti-Shake AE: The Anti-Shake AE mode minimizes the effect of camera shake and helps you take great pictures free of complicated operation by automatically increasing shutter speed and raising the ISO setting to compensate for camera shake and subject movement.

• Easy Auto Mode: The Easy Auto mode makes photography even easier by having the camera take complete control of settings, so you simply turn on the camera and shoot without worrying about them.

• High Sensitivity (ISO 1600): Keep shooting, even in lower light with the high ISO capability of the Coolpix L18, The cameras sensitivity is completely automatic and has a range from ISO 64 all the way to an incredible ISO 1600.

In-Camera Red-Eye Fix
This Feature automatically fixes most instances of red-eye - right in the camera. Red-eye is commonly caused by the use of a built-in flash on a compact camera.
Improved Face-Priority AF
The Nikon Face-Priority AF system automatically detects and achieves sharp focus on people's faces wherever they are in the frame for crisp, sharp portraits - and now it focuses on faces faster than ever. The feature can find and focus on up to 5 faces to ensure superb group portraits.
Nikon D-Lighting
The Nikon D-Lighting feature can rescue underexposed images or shots taken with too much backlight by automatically creating a copy of the image, then brightening the dark areas in the picture, while the well-exposed areas are left completely untouched.

• 3.0" LCD Display: The high resolution 3.0-inch LCD makes it easy to compose shots and play them back anywhere and the high contrast display ensures that the display is easily viewable - even in direct sunlight. a unique feature of the coolpix L18 is the Face Zoom-in function - it zooms right in on the subject's face at playback to let you quickly check facial expressions and focus.

• Compatible with AA-size Batteries: The Coolpix L18 is compatible with AA-size (LR6) batteries, which are widely available around the world. As a result, users can shoot as they like without having to worry about recharging or running out of power on an important day.

• Print Directly to a Printer or Show Pictures on a TV: You can send images directly to print, without the need of a PC, when using PictBridge and USB Direct Print compatible printers, or connect directly to your TV for family slide shows and presentations - the camera can even record images in the widescreen (16:9) aspect ratio so your images fill the screen on an HDTV.
