Got this as a gift and was really nervous because I am ocd about my camera safety!!! We have used this for multiple purpose from logging grandsons new swimming abilities to flora on the ocean floor and I absolutely love it. The clarity is amazing and all the buttons work very well as long as the camera is loaded in properly. Also it is easy enough for my 6 yr old grandson to use.

I bought this mainly for our annual canoe trip and also because we were going to Niagara Falls and were going on the Maids of the Mist tour. I have used it for that and about 10 times for the beach and lake outings. I'm amazed at the clarity of photos through the case and how easily I can still navigate all the menus and buttons through this case. It has far exceeded my expectations. I haven't used it for diving yet, but I fully intend to on my next vacation.

I used the case on my recent trip to the Phillipines. It functioned as expected. I had no problem with the seals, switches and opening and closing. The only suggestion I have is a magnifying lens over the LCD screen for the presbyopic as it can be hard to see with aging eyes.

I use this not only for scuba but rain and sand at the beach, and it is very very well built. Aboslutely essential protection for the camera.

I am a certified diver and was looking to start capturing some underwater fun stuff in warm water on vacations and the cold MN lake water too... Canon makes their stuff pretty spendy, but B&H made it affordable. The case is easy to use, comes with the jelly to seal it up. Wish Canon included the weights with it though, they cost extra. All in all, great case, clean, easy to use makes taking great videos and pics a "snap" and feels good when you are 120' below.

I purchased this housing to use on vacation. It works as advertised. All camera functions are maintained while the housing is in use. I would buy this again. the only thing to be aware of is that it does add a fair amount of bulk to the camera.

I purchased this for a snorkeling trip in the Bahamas worked great. Then used is all summer long at our campground swimming pool. Everyone who came to visit wanted their picture taken in the pool, underwater... even the movie portion worked great...but the voices were muffled... but understandable. I highly recommend this underwater housing... infact... I am thinking about buying another Canon SD1100, just to have a back up incase my first one dies. I just LOVE using this camera underwater!!!!

I just used this housing with my SD 1100 during a week of diving in Bonaire. Max depth was about 80 ft, and all went well. I was able to change camera modes from pics to video without a hitch. In the past I have used Nikonos V & Nikon n90 w/Iklite housing, and this cannon housing was smaller and easier to dive with. All the control buttons lined up and there was no adjusting anything to make it work. I can't believe how simple it was to use.

I had previously used my dive master's SeaLife DC500 and thought it did a good job until I bought this case for my Canon and was amazed! The sound quality is unmatched (you can hear regulator breathing, bubbles, and even BC inflation!) The video and colors are vivid and with 2 silca gel packs, the housing stayed clear on a descent from 70 to 52 degree thermocline.
If you're looking for an economical photo/video set up, consider the Canon case and camera. You'll get high quality photos on land and sea for what others charge for just the camera alone!

I bought this product so that my husband could take underwater picture with our camera instead of buying disposable underwater cameras. We travel a lot and he dives and we both snorkle. I bought this housing for a trip we were taking the end of April to Mexico, however we were unable to port in Mexico because of the swine flu. We were disapointed that we did not get to used this underwater yet, but we did take it on a kayak trip and it worked great. I was not afraid of getting my good camera wet and the pictures turned out great. Thanks again the price and the product was great.

Used down to 30M. Worked as advertised.
The actual only event, was swimming in shallow water, on a beach with super fine sand... it managed to go in and rest on the yellow seal. But inside clean and dry.

This underwater case blows my mind with the SD100. I am using it in Hawaii and the pictures are very clear and sharp. If you own a SD100 and plan to go snorkeling or diving it is a MUST.

I have used it for photos and filming my nephew splashing about in the swimming pool. I have used it to film my fellow triathletes in the pool to work on technique. I plan to use it when going to Costa Rica for divig, snorkeling and swimming in waterfalls. It's very versatile.

Love it!!! You can control all features while underwater. Videos are amazing. Used it in Hawaii to record Manta Ray night dive (pictures and video). Worked great with all the underwater lighting provided by dive company and no flash. Great for the falls two and swimming. Can also be used as a protective case, protects from the rain etc... Use without optional weights if snorkeling or swiming so it floats... Use with one weight for diving slighly sinks. Took to 65 feet no problem. Make sure the gasket is free of hair, dirt etc...

I just tested the case on a 40ft dive and so far it works great. No leaks were found after the dive everything remained dry.
Make sure to wash the case off with a hose (fresh water) while the camera is still inside to clean out salt water to prevent corrosion before opening. Most important thing is to make sure the seal is in good condition and is completely clean of dirt or debris etc before installing camera to go out in the water. I can see this being the weak point of the housing. Other than that is takes clear pictures but the deeper you go lighting can be an issue at some point. It is also fun to take pictures of surfers while in the water; this gives you a close up POV so the waterproof case comes in handy for other water sports as well. Just don’t let it get banged around. You might get the weight set also it helps balance the camera so it does not try to float up all the time while in deep water. What is not so good is you get four pcs but really only need one weight.
