Comments about Samsung S860 Digital Camera (Silver):
For the cost, the camera is just fine for my 9 year old. The plastic body can handle the scratches she's going to put on it. The LCD's size is fine, but resolution is a little low. Reviewing real details is difficult. Lens is OK, but zoom is small. There is noticeable shutter lag, which I thought had basically been removed from digital cameras. I guess not. With all this said, you get what you pay for and what you pay is very little for a camera that takes decent pictures, has some control, and best of all, for a 9 year old, video capture.

Comments about Samsung S860 Digital Camera (Silver):
I was given this camera for my birthday. While the quality of the images is fine, the batteries wear out after one to two days of use - and suddenly with no advanced warning. And for every 50 or so shots there are on average 3 file errors resulting in 3 lost shots. All this after reformatting the SD card AND using rechargeable NiMH with correct camera setting. Such a disappointment.

Comments about Samsung S860 Digital Camera (Silver):
I purchased this camera on a trip to NYC after forgetting my primary one at home. I wanted something small and inexpensive that would still provide good quality snapshots.
I'm impressed with the camera's picture quality--very good at this price point--and it has proven very durable thus far. My 8 and 9 year old kids have taken it over since I returned home a month ago and it has survived their less than careful handling just fine.
The only nit I have is that some of the controls are very intuitive. Most functions are pretty easy and all are Easy enough to use once you read the manual, but who wants to do that?
