This Korg 4-AA External Battery Pack accepts four AA alkaline, lithium, or NiMH batteries, and is designed for use with the MR-1 Hand-Held Digital Audio Recorder. This battery pack is especially ideal for situations out in the field when the option of recharging the built-in battery is not available. Just make sure you take along several sets of fresh batteries and you will be covered for any situation.

I have used it quiet successfully together with my Korg MR-1 and only had to switch to internal batteries after about 7 hours of continuous use, so from a functionality perspective I would give the unit 5 stars.
My only gripe is the plastic feel of the unit, almost fragile. Hence the 3 stars rating. I have made a foam padded enclosure for the unit that fits into my mixer bag, so thats that!
As an added extra, a battery power indicator would have been a nice to have.
