Excellent voice reproduction. Crystal clear frequency response with good low end. I can hear every word on tv broadcasts and movies. It even adds reinforcement to my front ES90s which don't really need much but it's there and it holds it's own with the big dogs. From the softest whisper to the loudest yell. This speaker has no distortion. JBL delivers once again! I just wish they designed the top to be flat.

Great full range sound which is necessary for a center channel. Very aesthetically pleasing as well. Since we had to locate the speaker on the floor based on a front projection installation a tapered cabinet would have been nice.

This center speaker delivers quality sound. I have'nt had my surround hooked up in quite a while, due to a blown center(kids are great). Recently purchased a 55" flat screen,and could'nt do without surround sound,my front floor and rear bookshelf are both older JBL, my system sounds great with the center addition. Matches well,looks great,its alot bigger than my old center, however I am very happy with it, pure power.

I use this as a center speaker in a large room with my main speakers, a pair of JBL 3-way towers with 15" woofers. As usual I love the JBL clarity and precision. The downside is that this is not a forgiving speaker, and the 5.1 sound from many TV stations and cable outlets is not great. But if you want to hear what's really there, this is a good product.
I'm annoyed by the lack of a flat top-- it's angled-- but that's my only complaint.

The center sounds really great for the price crisp highs, I can hear every single little detail especially when watching a from a Bluray source i could even hear whispers, ash being burnt from a cigarette, a squeak from a leather boot as a person leaned to his side!! - no more having to rewind just to hear the dialogue. The only problem i had was mounting this thing. It is tapered making it difficult i ended up buying two "L"shaped brackets and some wire rope to hang this from my fireplace mantle above which is my Samsung 46" LCD..This is my second purchase from B&H and would have to say that if you have doubts.. Forget about them B&H is a Rock solid vendor[...]

I bought this along with a pair of JBL ES30B 3 way 6" bookshelf speakers and the JBL ES250P 12" powered subwoofer for use as the center speaker in a new home theater system.
I like the sytling and color (black and charcoal on these speakers), but the tapered cabinets are a bit too much (hence the deduct of one star on my rating - I would have much prefered straight edge/sided cabinets).
That aside, it sounds wonderful!
The new receiver recognized this speaker as "Large" despite its smaller size, but two 5.25" woofers and a midrange & high end tweeter compensate well, thus the 'big' sound. It came through with flying colors at very high volume with no distortion, producing some impressive sound effects during DVD move playback. Highly recommended!
