This is an impressive subwoofer!
I've had this hooked up for a onth now, and am using it as the LFE unit in a home theater system, as well as augmenting my music system with CD and LP playback. It is very responsive and accurate.
This subwoofer's powerful built in amplifier at 400 watts RMS is capable of reproducing some very low frequencies without clipping or distortion, while at high volume. (Just crank it up during that final scene in "Saving Private Ryan"!).
Highly recommended.
(It comes with a 12' subwoofer connection cable that I recommend you replace with something thicker and more 'shielded' though for best performance.

Have had two jbl subs. the first lasted over a year the secound model#ES250PB started having problems 14 days after I started using it. Product warranty only 1 year for amp. portion of speaker even through it states five. Problem that I'm having is amp turns itself on even with no input signal.

I use this sub in all applications (cable, blu-ray, and music). The Es-250 provides excellent punchy and deep bass. The bass is clear even at high volumes. Quick and easy set-up. Beautiful design with grill on or off. There isn't anything I can say negative about this sub. Best sub I have ever had.

Using this sub in my living room hooked up to a harman kardon receiver. What a difference! Excellent low end. Sound is neither booming or muddied by the bass. Sounds very natural and powerful at the same time. I would recommend to everyone!

Bought this sub to go with my JBL Studio-L theatre (can't afford the Studio-L sub). Fast/easy setup, good loud bass. It's not quite as clean at the lowest frequencies as I would like, but I'm a bit of a frequency snob. Clean sub-20Hz frequency response would be awesome!
But for under $300, I sure as heck ain't complaining!
