The P85 from Yamaha is an affordable digital piano designed to provide full quality in a portable design. The piano features an 88-key graded hammer action keyboard to realistically recreate the feel of a traditional piano. Yamaha's AWM stereo sampling provides a true-sounding piano, as well as other instruments such as organs, strings, and more. A dual voice feature even lets you choose two voices at once.
The piano has a built-in stereo speaker system for playing publicly. For private practice sessions or duets, two headphone jacks are provided. The song recording feature lets you capture your performance and play it back later, while the metronome keeps you perfectly in tempo. Reverb and chorus effects are available for added richness.
The included FC5 pedal lets you control sustain. For more dynamic control, including half-pedal support, you can connect the optional FC-3 or LP-5 pedal units (sold separately). MIDI in and out connectors let you hook the piano up to a computer or other MIDI device for great musical creation opportunities.

Comments about Yamaha P85 88-Key Portable Digital Piano (Black):
I tested this one again casio px130. My conclusion is that p85 sounds a little bit more realistic than px130. So I brought this one because i think the in sound quality difference is definitely worth the extra cost (~$20)

Comments about Yamaha P85 88-Key Portable Digital Piano (Black):
Living away from home for 6 months, i can't afford to buy or keep an actual piano inside a small apartment. I was advised to get this by my instructor and it really got the job done. The sound is awesome. It's still a bit large, you should have a place to keep it with a proper support where you can play.
I also got these very basic headset to go with it so i don't disturb neighbors during the night. The combo is perfect for practicing anytime.
I would def. recommend this.

Comments about Yamaha P85 88-Key Portable Digital Piano (Black):
I wanted something that would be the equal, or as close as possible, to a good acoustic piano but that would be portable. This is the real deal. Excellent action, feels just like a real piano. Not many extra bells and whistles but that's what I was looking for, simple, and does one job very well.

Comments about Yamaha P85 88-Key Portable Digital Piano (Black):
Touch is similar to my "real" piano. Volume control is too soft for my taste. Music rack is very good. It is fun to play Baroque music on the harpsichord setting.
