We purchased this camera for our office to use for patient before and after photos and it was very easy to learn to use, handles well with a large display and we love the fact that it takes AA batteries. We use recharable batteries that last a long time with usage all day long! Highly recommend this very functional camera!

Great to use in events, travel but sports. This camera is a little bit bigger to shoot when you're practicing sports such as ski, etc.

I bought this camera specifically for a Disney World trip. Most pictures were able to be taken using only "Auto". I used the "Sports" setting for the parades. The zoom on this camera enabled me to take really distant pictures easily. The pictures were clear and the color was extraordinary. I would recommend this camera to anyone who wants to pay a little for a lot.

Once my camera arrived I immediately started testing out some of its features.

The grip on the side makes it easy to hold the camera. The battery life is great - I'm still using the original batteries it came with!

When taking pictures it does a great job of automatically focusing on subjects so long as you hold the shutter button down for a second or two. The optical zoom works great - I was able to zoom in on a low flying plane as it went by.

The flash is located above the lens and pops up with the touch of a small button. If I don't need the flash I keep it closed and vice versa.

It can take video, however, the sound quality is not very good and you can't zoom in while recording.

As a student and a web and graphic designer, I needed a camera that had a lot of powerful features and a compact size that is easy to use without a lot of photography experience. The FujiFilm S1000fd is perfect, especially for under $200.

I use this camera to do everyday picture taking . Because of it's light-weight feature I can take it along when I go bicycling . It takes very good quality pictures in normal lighting conditions . The AA alkaline batteries last for about 370 shots.One caution: don't use AA lithium batteries unless they have slots on the top of each battery that will allow for the release of heat.

I use this P&S for family pics etc. What I really like is the manual functions. I am learning to manipulate aperture, shutter speed and bracketing. I think I've taken about 400 pics already. The Panorama feature is probably the best feature I've ever seen in a camera this inexpensive. B&H has the best prices[...] is too expensive....

I purchased this camera to replace a three year old Sony CyberShot. The Sony took good pictures, but this Fuji blows it away. The pictures I have taken thus far have amazing clarity for a unit that sells for under $200. The menus and features are easy to navigate as well. I was taking great pictures before I ever picked up the Owner's Manual. The only weak spot (IMHO) is the lag time between shots that others have mentioned.

If you are looking to upgrade from a regular point & shoot, then this is an excellent choice.

I love hybrids, and this is the best under $200. For a little more money, you get through-the -lens viewing- eliminating the bright light problems with LCD displays of digital, PLUS all that extra optical zoom power. After using 35 mm cameras for years, and not wanting to spend a grand for a comparable digital, I was pleased when the hybrid came on the scene just these last couple of years.

The 12X zoom lens on the Fuji S1000 is quite adequate for most normal photography, and when extended, a tripod is almost necessary. You may spend a little more to get more zoom, if you really like or need it, but at that point you'll need to support the camera.

At 10 megapixals, this camera delivers great images, and has the quality look and feel of a camera you'd expect from Fuji. Exposue compensation, whch can be a problem in digital photography, is accomplished here at the touch of a button.

At first I was turned of by the large looking grip, but then I realized: it's full of battery power. Four normal AA batteries in fact! I had a similar Kodak model that only used two batteries and had to change them too frequently. Having four of them is a plus, and twice the life. The grip in no way gets in the way of function otherwise.

There are great features like slide show viewing you can record or view on TV, and a cropping function that lets you zoom into and reframe previous shots, and copy them. I got a four gig SD card with mine, for lots and lots and lots of photos.

If you haven't used a digital much, it may take some time to get aquainted with it, but besides the printed manual, there's a more detailed one on the included CD. I'm very happy with mine and I recommend this camera to anyone.

This is a great product. Super easy to use. Even the video feature is pretty nice. The close up macro and super macro options are crisp clear and perfect. Normal everyday photography is a delight with this camera! At very low bucks for 10 megapixels this baby is a steal.

I bought this camera as a gift for my daughter who wanted a step up from her kodak easy share point and shoot camera. She is very happy with it so far. She has found it easy to use and likes the compact size.

I am an amateur who finds this camera pretty easy to use. I mostly use it for pictures of my kids and family stuff. I get great pictures. Camera lingo, I still need to learn so I can utilize more options.

As digital photography goes, I'm probably closer to beginner than anything else. That being said, I'm happy with this camera.

I like the controls layout. There is easy access to all of them. The menus are intuitive and easy to use. I especially like being able to view and compose shots with both the LCD and the eyepiece.

I don't know yet how it does on batteries. Cameras I've had in the past used to chew up batteries in a hurry.

The only negative that I can think of is that there seems to be a little longer than usual shutter lag between hitting the shutter button and when the picture is taken. It makes taking action shots a challenge and you really have to plan your shots in advance.

All in all, a great camera with lots of nice features at a very attractive price.

At a recent family gathering I was unable to fit everyone into a single shot, so I took three overlapping shots and the camera did the rest! In a matter of seconds, the camera assembled the shots into a single panoramic photo, with detail that is truely amazing!

I use this product for just everyday pics. of me & my family... I received it for Christmas and so far I love it... Great for the price! Love the Size! Only things I wish it had a faster shutter on single photos and that the flash was not manual on auto... I like it when I can set auto and it pop up on its own but this does not do that...I also think the save photo time or lap time is to long, Other than that I love the fact that I can hold the sutter on multiple pic setting and take action shots. Camera was used over the holidays it was easy to use right out of the box. Great photos right from the start. The manually triggered flash was a bit to get use to but now its automatic. Can't wait to get on the cruise this summer.
