The Benbo Trecker 3 Compact Tripod Legs is a compact version of the award winning Benbo Trekker Mk3. It folds to a length of 25" (635mm) making it easy to transport as it will fit into most medium size suitcases. It is also ideal for low-level macro work such as photographing flowers and nature.
The Mk3 Compact Trekker incorporates slightly geared faces on the main joint components, ensuring that the joint can be locked firmly without undue tightening of the locking handle. The flexibility of the leg joint mechanism combined with the ability to swing the center column through 180° allows the camera to be positioned at almost any point relative to the tripod legs.
The Trekker will support the majority of modern DSLRs and medium format film cameras. However stability is directly related to weight. The provision of a hook at the lower end of the center column (built-in) allows the temporary addition of extra weight (e.g. a camera bag) to give greater stability when long lenses are in use.

Comments about Benbo Trekker Mk3 Compact Tripod Legs:
I got this tripod as a secondary tripod. I like it because of all the different positions it can be put into. It can go low to the ground and I can angle my camera so it is hanging right over my subject. Great for macro photography. This tripod is heavier than a travel tripod but it is not extremely heavy so I could easily take it hiking or to locations. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is beacuse of the ballhead. The ballhead was not the best. HOWEVER, I found that the Oben BB-0 Ball Head with quick release will fit nicely. Once I changed the ballhead I give this 5 stars.

Comments about Benbo Trekker Mk3 Compact Tripod Legs:
This guy is not like any other tripod I've used - and that's the point.
I purchased the Trekker Mk3 specifically because of the odd construction (single-bolt). I was looking for a cheap rig to steady my Canon 7D and this thing caught my eye.
My initial plan was to use it as a make-shift steady cam, but that didn't pan out exactly as I'd hoped. However, as a shoulder cam, this thing is perfect. I hold one leg under my right arm, one leg rests on my belt and the other I hold in my right hand. With a counterweight hanging over my back, it is incredibly stable and superbly priced for its functionality.
Add to that the ACTUAL functions it fulfills and you're investing in something that can do almost anything.
I couldn't give it five stars, just because it is not the most stable tripod (that single bolt never really gets tight enough).

Very durable and easy to use. I use it for jewelry both large and small and it's great to manipulate the shot with this tripod.

Comments about Benbo Trekker Mk3 Compact Tripod Legs:
As the first tripod I have bought, this product was well researched for it's uniqueness. That said I did borrow and try other tripods before taking the risk of jumping in and buying this. That said, I'm happy with the product and can gladly say it has fulfilled my expectations, especially considering the price. Combined with a decent ballhead, the tripod is versitile in it's positioning and can easily be manuevered with practice into many different positions and angles. , the only bad thing about this is all that manuverability is adjusted using one lever... so it requires finess!
I'll summarize this with a pros and con listing.
Pros
Weight, it's not light and doesn't shift easily
Manueverable
Waterproof to the first segement
Cons
Weight - it's not light!!!!
Short- it's short so if your looking for height, buy the larger version
requires practice to learn how to position it
I hope this helps
