When my wife took a plane trip across the country with our little girl who was then 1 year and 3 months old, our little one cried non-stop for five and a half hours. On the next trip, she gave the two of us some trouble as well. Fast forward to two and a half years old with an upcoming trip to India, involving non-stop travel legs of at least 10 hours each. At the insistence of my wife, I purchased this DVD player, with the key focus being on BATTERY LIFE. This thing is specd to play non-stop for 13 hours with the right settings. It did not disappoint on the plane, and kept our little one entertained for hours. Also, the universal charger was very convenient in India, where the voltage is 240V/50Hz. Five stars to this product and ten stars to my wife for suggesting it.

I use this DVD player in my working glass studio. I like it because I can set it up anywhere and it fits anywhere. I'm also looking forward to taking it to professional shows when I vend my glass to play my video of me working in my glass studio. Useful, easy to move around and transportable without a lot of fuss!! Highly recommend it!

WE took this on a trip and it played continually for 10 hours. It holds its charge for a long time and just keeps going. It also charges up quickly. The picture is clear and sharp and the sound is also good.
I would have liked a bigger screen but I am pleased wit hthis product.

Excellent unit for the price with long battery life... The picture and sound quality are fine at normal settings. Sound gets a little distorted if you max out the volume. Found a second use for the device to get more usage. Had a spare LCD in the garage collecting dust and now I have a system I can watch while I tinker. This does not require much space or a power cord.

Great for travel, Long battery life, and durable for travel. Needs VERY GOOD noise cancelling headphones for air travel, or volume/sound is difficult to hear. Great picture, easy to use.

I had an earlier model of this before, which kids dropped on concrete and broke the screen. I bought this again without hesitating. It supports all the media types I have, it has decent picture and sound. It is lightweight, easy to carry. It is a lifesaver when traveling with kids. It is quite durable, keeps on working even with kids poking the screen and the lens. Battery life is close to what they claim.

I purchased this DVD player as a way to make my daily exercise bearable. Because of arthritis, I cannot walk for long distances, but have to use a recumbant bike. It was the most boring thing in the world - and inconvenient to put in front of a TV - Exercise is going great with my new portable DVD player - sound is great, picture is fantastic - I just put on a favorite movie and start peddling. Conveniently fits on a small stool beside my bike - easy to take out, set up and put away. Perfect for the person like me who hates gadgets and pluggy-ins.

This DVD player was purchased for my elderly mother so that she could play DVDs and CD with the flexibility of moving it to a comfortable and convenient place. This model was also purchased because of advertised longer battery life.

The player is small and not heavy, but seems durable. Operation is uncomplicated. The screen is a good size for viewing and the picture and sound are good.

The only slight drawbacks with this small and sleek looking player are the keys. The volume adjustment toggle switches are black-on-black so that they are hard to see; they are narrow keys flush with the surface and located at the edge of the player. We had to mark them so that she could see them easily. Also, the user guide uses terms that do not apply to the unit - such as the instruction to push the "Play" key when the key is named "On" on the unit.

Don't know about battery life yet.

Otherwise, so far (a couple of weeks), so good. She is very pleased with it.

I got this to make quick checks of CD and DVD duplicates. It does a good job with that, loads quick, easy format change form 4:3 to 16:9, I like that it plays MP3s. Decent screen size and will probably use it to show finished DVDs to customers. Screen can be seen from wide viewing angles. Don't expect HD picture. It looks good but definite dots in the picture when seen from 18-24 inches. Decent sound from built-in speakers, but as other people have commented, the volume control is in an awkward position -- you keep accidentally turning it up or down while trying to hand-hold the unit.

We own 3 players from different manufacturers and I like this one best. The Sony is OK but does not have as good a display and less play time per charge. Like most of these devices, controls are hard to use in darkness with poor tactile feedback which is why I gave 4 not 5 stars. Overall I will get a second unit when the Sony gives out.

I bought this portable DVD player to replace an aging one that I was having problems with. My primary concern was compatability with multiple DVD formats. This player has not had a problem with any disk including duel layer cd's. I not crazy about the placement of the volume comtrols but that's a minor issue

I travel a fair amount and love the diversion a portable dvd player provides. I purchased this dvd player to replace one that finally wore out. The reason this one was so appealing was the long battery life. I have not been able to test how long the battery actually stays charged, but I was able to watch two movies on a recent flight with no problem. I would buy this player again. One thing I did notice is that I had to adjust the volume several times. Speaking was low so I would raise the volume, but music or sound effects were way too loud so I would turn down the volume. I have not had this problem with my previous dvd player, so it may be a problem with this player.

My wish was to find a DVD player that would last for an entire airline flight and not give me a low battery warning when a movie was about to end. This machine delivers with a sharp picture, nice color and a compact and fairly light package. Add to that clear and robust audio and this machine and I have to say this beat my expectations. Of course the battery doesn't last 13 hours as claimed but it's enough to watch a Lord of the Rings movie and a couple of Twilight Zone episodes. I highly recommend it. Price is comparable to other players that advertise a six hour battery life. Panasonic did this one right.

DVD is fantastic design, solid,sharp screen, long life battery, however No remote control and screen only fold to one direction no swivel.

I love this machine. The screen is a great size and has good clarity. The only thing I don't like about it is the location of the volume buttons as they are on the side of the machine which are easy to knock when moving the machine around.

The main reason I bought the Panasonic DVD player is its multi-format capability. We can play back programs recorded on our DVD recorder, as well as standard movie DVD's. We can catch up on our tv shows while running on our treadmill (we put a shelf for it on the treadmill control panel bar), or anywhere. The picture quality and sound are fine. I do wish the audio volume could be turned higher, but headphones help.

I use the Panasonic DVD-LS86 player to view DVDs that I cannot watch at the time of rental because I am too busy. It has excellent quality at a reasonable price.

I love that it lasts for 13 hours on a battery charge. It is the only DVD player I know of that plays this long, and it is reasonably priced.

The DVD player serves my purpose, and I have not noticed, or had it long enough to explore the things that are bad about it.

It is an excellent and quality purchase.
