The Bushnell 3, 5 MP Trail Sentry NV Digital Camera lets hunters monitor their favorite hunting grounds 24/7 so they can identify the most productive hunting areas. Its built-in Night Vision capability means that hunters can image game at night at a range of up to 15 feet without using a visible flash which may "spook" some game. The camera provides extended battery life, faster trigger times and weatherproof construction so it can perform without fail in any climate or application. It produces high quality, color photos, and it can be set to take still images or video clips.
The 3, 5 MP Trail Sentry NV digital camera is easy to set up and operate. The four toggle switches on the cameras control panel allow the user not only to turn the unit on and off, but to switch from video to still, set the camera's delay time and set the unit to operate during the day or night only, or 24 hours a day. The digital camera is activated by motion, and it uses a passive infrared sensor to detect motion out to 45 feet. When a full color image is captured, it is stamped with the date and time for keeping records of game activity, and it can also provide a moon phase stamp to correlate game activity to the monthly cycle. Images are saved on a removable SD card, and the images can then be downloaded to a computer via a card reader for editing, saving or sharing with friends.

Comments about Bushnell 3, 5 MP Trail Sentry NV Digital Trail Camera:
I bought this camera to monitor some vandalism at a remote site. The infrared illuminators unfortunately are a visible red color so I had to cover them up. The sensitivity of the infrared motion detector is quite good. It worked well during a warm day at a range of over 20 feet. If I can find a infrared filter to block out the visible red, then it would be perfect for both day and night use. I don't think it would be a problem for photographing animals.
One problem is difficulty aiming the camera. It does have a 45 degree field of view but to target it accurately, it would have been nice to have a illuminator or cheap aiming laser to help with the set up and positioning. It does come with a strap to tie it to a tree or post.
The camera is limited to a 1 gigabyte SD card. It is not rated to handle higher capacity cards. This is not much of a problem unless you need to capture thousands of events. I can easily capture portions of 250 minutes of video with a 15 second capture during each minute of activation.
The high resolution 5 mega pixel is a bit misleading. The camera captures at about 3 megapixels and stores it at that or can store it at 5 megapixels with an interpolated image. Stick with the lower resolution and then blow it up with Photoshop if you need to.
The unit seems adequately weather resistant. The instructions for programing the camera are straight forward. The little buttons for doing the programing are a bit awkward since they don't always register each push or will skip past what you want it to do. This can be annoying. If you just need daylight use, the non night vision unit is adequate.
