Picture is brilliant, and can be viewed from a very wide angle. Brights are bright and blacks are black. The TV has an unbelievable number of options and adjustments.

Comments about Samsung LN52A650 52" 1080p LCD TV:
I have this TV hooked up to an HD cable box, a Wii, an old Playstation 2, and an upconverting DVD player.
The picture quality is excellent. It has plenty of HDMI ports (I plan on adding more devices later, including my computer).
The biggest problems with the TV so far: The remote is somewhat cheap feeling. I find the remote awkward when navigating the menus.
It also seems to lack any buttons on the TV itself, not even a power button! I'm as lazy as the next guy, but sometimes I would like to turn the TV on or off when I am standing next to it.

Comments about Samsung LN52A650 52" 1080p LCD TV:
[...] I've done all the research on LCds. Read hundreds of reviews on this product. It doesn't do it justice! Before you even turn the TV on...It's gorgeous. Glossy black, The TOC is subtle, yet, giving it a rich appeal. As you turn the tv on, the picture is perfect right out of the box. but If you'd like it brighter or darker without messing with the settings it has different modes, One for TV, movies or sports. If you decide to tinker around with the picture or the sound, you can set them both back to factory/default.(Phew) lol This picture is almost 3d like. So vivid, sharp, the colors popping..It's bright, The blacks are very dark, no reflections, or washing. The remote is shaped kinda weird but it's very easy to understand/use. The sound? I have a small man cave this TV is now in, so it's more than adequate.I couldn't be happier.Like my headline reads, SIMPLY AMAZING!

Comments about Samsung LN52A650 52" 1080p LCD TV:
The picture is Stunning. It looks like your watching live video through a window, even with directv, which only supports up to 720P. I do not have blueray yet to see 1080p in action, but can't imagine how the picture can get much better. Even 480i dvd's look great. I researched all 52" lcd panels and this one by far has the best picture.
Cons: Sound is nothing great. Cannot use speakers as center channel for 5.1 system. Does not autodetect sources ie dvd, sat, onair, you have to switch to source with remote.

Comments about Samsung LN52A650 52" 1080p LCD TV:
Right out of the box this TV ROCKS! Also purchased an ONKYO 806 and Samsung BlueRay and plugged them all in simultaneously. Put a non-HD DVD (Cars) in the BlueRay. Without any tweaking, the system was unbelievable. Neighbor w/ $5k Pioneer Plasma left drooling...some comments follow:
-Red border on TV barely noticeable when in the home.
-TV has internet access if you want to...didn't know that prior to purchase. You can also plug in a thumb drive w/ photos/music and have a mini data-center.
-Also purchased Harmony One...wife very happy with it (only 1 remote on the coffee table vs NORAD Central Command Center of days past)
-One reason decision to buy was slid was how 'bright' the LCD's are in the showroom...until 1 savvy salesman showed me the 'movie' mode that tones the set down. Just right.
Any neg comments would be splitting hairs...coming from a 40" Mitsubishi tube TV, this upgrade is like having listened to music thru a string/tin can and then walking into a concert hall. The performance delta is staggering but I cannot discern how much of the performance of my non-BR DVD's can be attributed to the upconverter on the Onkyo reciever.
Bottom line- get both!

Comments about Samsung LN52A650 52" 1080p LCD TV:
The HDTV looks great from the start.[...] For cabling the HDTV, I simply connected the same components as were connected to my old TV. I used the cables that came with my Cablevision HD box.I realize that I can fiddle around with the controls to make the picture even better. Since I'm happy with it, I'll leave it alone for now.The TV comes pre-installed with a stand which allows the TV to be set on a horizontal surface, like a floor and it may be swiveled. I have it now on the carpet, but I want to get a furniture base for it to raise it up a little and to store its peripherals like DVD players, etc.My only caution is that the TV is heavy and requires two people to move it safely.

I looked at the panasonic Viera plasma, but i ultimately went with the ln52A650. I am sooooo happy. It was the perfect size for me, and I got THE best price out there by buying it mid day from B&H. The price dropped and I jumped on it and it was 150 less than [...]. I play blue-ray movies on my ps3, and play some games and when I watch with friends, people are shocked at how good the picture is. Its fun to use this TV to wow people. I have 0 regrets!

Comments about Samsung LN52A650 52" 1080p LCD TV:
This set was a breeze to set up. The picture is incredible; detail, recovery, aspect all are top notch. The sound is not as bad as I've read other people comment on, but a home theater sure helps. The red hue around the border is almost unnoticable, so don't let that stop you. A definite "yes" when considering a 52" LCD.

This is an excellent LCD large screen HD TV. I would buy it again if I were starting the buying process over. It is not very heavy and basic set-up is fairly easy. The picture just gets better as I learn more about the adjustments.

Comments about Samsung LN52A650 52" 1080p LCD TV:
Great picture quality .. viewable from a decent angle - much more so than expected.
Screen is highly reflective - be careful where placed to minimize any image problems.
Default picture settings are easy to select, and picture quality looks great out of the box.
Simple to install - take out of box, hook into receiver and DVD players - good to go.
Internal speaker are ok - sound projects downward and can be muffled.

Comments about Samsung LN52A650 52" 1080p LCD TV:
Great TV.
I've got a Wii, HD cable box, Tivo, and DVD connected thus far. They all look great, even during the day thanks to the high contrast ratio.
The USB connection is nice for connecting up a card reader and reviewing photos from my SLR at a nice resolution.
The infolink seems like a good idea and works out well, but could have been implemented so much better - too invasive and limited!
The smooth finish to the TV was a worry but it turns out to be minor at worst. We've got a mirror behind the couch we'll get rid of to cut down on the 2ndary reflection from a light in the middle of the room. We don't need to make the room look bigger anymore - we swapped out the 30" deep projection TV for this 5" or so deep LCD!
Highly recommended.

USE WITH CABLE/SATELLITE DISH RECEPTION WHICH IS VERY GOOD. USED WITH BLUE RAY DVD PLAYER (SAME BRAND PLAYER(SAMSUNG) DONT KNOW IF ANY OTHER BRAND WOULD WORK AS WELL OR BE COMPATIBLE. AT ANY RATE WITH BLUE RAY DVD AND USING THE HDMI CABLE FROM PLAYER TO THE TV , THE PICTURE IS ASTOUNDING---VERY THREE DIMENSIONAL. PICTURE IS BRIGHT, WELL DEFINED AND HAS LENGTH, WIDTH, AND DEPTH.

Comments about Samsung LN52A650 52" 1080p LCD TV:
Originally purchased a new model Sharp Aquos 52" LCD TV. Took a couple of days trying to adjust the picture color. Great picture on HD channels (except for some motion blur in sports) and Blu-Ray movies. Poor picture on standard definition channels and DVDs even though the DVD player was an upconvert Panasonic model. Purchased a Sony Blu-Ray DVD player and DVDs gave a better picture, but not as good as the old (2yr) 42" plasma TV. Took the Sharp back and ordered the Samsung LN52A650 based on the CR review. Prior to ordering, my wife and I went to a local appliance store to see the Touch Of Color in person. The first TOC TV we saw on display (smaller TV) had a distinct Red band which my wife found unacceptable. Saw the 52" TOC and noticed the TOC was much less pronounced, and acceptable. In the house, we hardly notice the TOC. The Samsung 650A gets a great picture in both HD and Std. Upconverted DVDs look almost as good as the Blu-Ray DVDs. Connected the TV with Belkin PureAV HDMI cables from FIOS HD and Blu-Ray sources. I read some negative comments regarding the remote wheel-not an issue. I never spin the wheel but press at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 O'clock positions and it works just like a more typical directional arrow arrangement. I was happy with the 42" Panasonic plasma, but wanted a larger screen and more energy efficient primary TV - got both with the Samsung. Very happy with the TV.
