I've owned one for a long time, maybe 15 years. I didn't really like it at first, mostly due to the light loss. Once I learned to compensate for this aspect, I started to respect this product more.
I was concerned about the durability of the Velco parts, but this has not proven to be a problem, even after all these years. If you add your own Velcro to the flash, make sure you use the high quality loop stock with heavy duty adhesive.
Although it takes a few seconds to set it up and attach it to the flash, it stores away in my bag nicely since it folds flat. It is among my bare-minimum accessories.
I found that adding more Velcro to the back of the flash allowed me to adjust the angle of the reflector. Even in situations where the ceiling is low enough for bounce, having this reflector in place, but pulled back out of the direct line of the flash gave me a lot better fill in the bottom of the photo, especially with my more powerful flashes (Sunpak 622).
It's too bad this device is so bulky. With a big hotshoe flash pointed up and this thing mounted on it, the camera and flash assembly is quite large. Sometimes it's hard to avoid the laws of physics.

Don't expect it to do wonders if you use it on a flash that is mounted on camera still. What it does is bring from light source even further way from your lens, which is good to prevent red eyes. It did not visibly soften the light in my test shots. I do like its design and looking to get bigger Lumiquest ligh modifiers.

I've liked this product so far... It does a good job bouncing light from my 430EXII flash, softening the shadows.
The only thing that I do not like that much is that the velcros used to attach the bouncer are kinda cheap and not strong enough but it's not that a big deal.

The pocket bounce performs very well, I have a wide angle lens and have had problems with uneven lighting when I am at the widest setting. With the pocket bounce I get very even soft lighting. The only problem endountered was initially setting the velcro fasteners so that the light was delivered where i needed it and the velcro caused the zoom on my flash to be taped in one position.

Having the flash mounted on the camera and shooting directly forward gives harsh shadows and bright highlights in many cases. I looked around for some good diffusers and found this pocket bouncer. I've shot several projects with it, including a full set of wedding pictures, and am extremely pleased with the results. Definitely recommend for on camera flash use.

This diffuser makes much softer light than direct flash. It helps eliminate that shiny skin reflection that looks unflattering. However, when you tip up your flash head to mount it, and then put the diffuser above the flash head, the light source is often so high above the lens that you don't get those pretty catch lights in the subject's eyes. I'm using a Stroboframe Pro RL bracket, and have the flash arm lowered all the way.

Since I don't have fancy lighting, and will also be using this for event photography, it works great. It softens the light and elimates shadows, as it's designed to do. I use the velcro strip from my Better Beamer to secure it. If you don't want to use the sticky tabs that came with it, a rubberband does the trick.

This is a great accessory for any flash user... though you lose some light, the loss is made up for by the soft quality you get from the bounce. Get the cinch-strap too for velcro/ tape free use with any flash!

I've been using a variation of these for years. You can make your own bounce cards but this fits great, folds up small and can be put on or taken off with one hand.

Great bouncer for the money. Pretty easy to install. I don't like the velcro, so I just use a rubber band to attach it to the speedlight. Faces come out a lot better on the pictures when using this bouncer than just using a direct flash.
