One of the few items I have been disappointed with. Difficult to use with the softboxes and almost worthless for the top-heavy Big Bounce. The velcro strips included with the diffusers worked much better.

Works perfectly and easily with accessories. Wish the had a little more give so that it fit tighter on Nikon SB-900. Doesn't exactly lay flat when installed but works just the same ..just a little floppy.It does not however slide down the flash which was a surprise considering it doesn't lay absolutely flat. I bought the cinch to keep from sticking the self adhesive Velcro to the flash. I bought another one so it isn't such an issue as to keep me from using it.

I use this product secure ProMax system to my external flash. It allows me to attach the Promax without sticking velcro to my flash. I love the strap, it is lightweight, and easy to use.

...it should be included with the LumiQuest softboxes for free. Doesn't make sense to have to pay extra for a strip of velcro

bought this product not sure if it would hold my soft box. Did not want to glue the small strips on my flash. So this was a great find. Goes on easy and holds every thing just fine.

Perfect for attaching the diffuser system by Promax. I had read that most people that had to buy the strap were disappointed that it didn't come with the system. I would agree with that....but at least they offer it. I wouldn't want to put the velcro all over my flash units either.

If you still want to use the vendor-supplied diffuser dome on your external flash, then this strap is a must-have accessory to your Lumiquest product. The tape-on Velcro strap will interfere with the click-on diffuser.

The strap is flexible, but not really elastic (as described). If the flash is clean and the strap is clean, it'll hold well enough (unless you swing the flash around aggressively). But over the course of a few days, my cinch strap (with the LTp diffuser attached) will start sliding off routinely, and I have to cinch things down again.

It does what it is supposed to do, and without it my attachments won't stay in place. 'Nuff said.

Well for a couple of extra bucks, this thing is worth it. It helps so you don't have to put on those self adhesive straps and have something permanently stuck to your flash. Provides enough grip to keep any Lumiquest product in place and also if you want to still use a dome bounce (if you have) it fits around that too. Especially during these tough times, I think it's useful to be able to use all of your equipment and save yourself an extra trip and eye strain from doing more research. Only problem you might have is placing it somewhere where you will remember to take it with you when you go shooting.

The strap works well and stays secure for the most part. I wish I could wrap it around the flash a little tighter.

Simple but effective. Much better than adhesive Velcro "spots." Could be perhaps a bit more "tacky" on the backside, but still, it's never slipped off my Sigma strobe.

Much better than sticking velcro to your flash. Makes it easy to move from flash to flash. Stays put.

This works well, exactly the way I hoped. Only problem is, I lost it first week. Its small and light and inexpensive. That's why I bought 2 more, to have a spare in my bag.

Shortly after unboxing my new Nikon SB600, I began what had become something of a tradition for me these last 25 years: "The Fastening Of The Self-adhesive Velcro Tabs". A solemn ritual this, familiar to all photographers who use any of the myriad bounce flash, softbox, and other diffusers with their portable electronic flash units. Peeling back the release paper from the three furry strips, I precisely aligned each one to its exact intended position, and pressed them firmly home. Pausing to inspect my handiwork, there came a flash of horror at the thought of what I had just done. Not to put too sharp a point on it, but basically, I had just glued a three-piece 'fro toupee onto my brand new $300 Nikon flash. Talk about remorse! This is no $39 Quantaray; what was I thinking? So maybe it wasn't the same as painting a mustache on the Mona Lisa, but still! Immediately I commenced removing said Velcro before the amazingly tenacious adhesive could cure. Still, it wasn't easy and it required a little Goof-Off solvent to restore the flash at last to its pristine, unmolested state.So the question remained...if not the dreaded Velcro strips, just how do I intend to fasten a LumiQuest pocket bouncer to this costly, new, and above all 'bald' flash? The idea came to me that I could obtain one of those wide, heavy duty rubberband like straps, place it onto the flash head, and glue 3 more Velcro strips to it in their correct positions. Which meant finding a place that sells those rubbery strappy things, fitting the flash with one of the correct size, and finally anteing up another $5 for 3 more Velcro strips. Someone, I thought, must have had to solve this problem before, so I began Googling (I say it's a word!) around the web. The search led me right back here to BH Photo where I found the subject of this review, the LumiQuest Cinchstrap. I have to admit to some skepticism as to whether its triangular rubber patches would securely hold a pocket bouncer in place, but I pulled the trigger anyway. So how did it work out? Well, since my five minutes are almost up, let me cut right to the chase and tell you: This strap hugs the body of your flash like a grizzly bear! The fearsome Lumiquest Cinch Strap could hold a beauty-dish firmly in place. And as for those that were apprehensive about fastening and unfastening the Cinch Strap all the time, there's a simple solution to that, too...just leave it on all the time! The worst that can happen is other photographers will recognize it and take you for the serious shooter you are. The best thing is when you finally DO remove it for whatever reason, your flash head will look just like new.[...]Don't you love happy endings!
