I'd be careful if I buy this.

Well, the 1st thing is I cant use my remote from a far away distance in my room I have to be close to the the unit or it wont do anything. The buttons on the remote are too sensitive. It skips DVDs even the ones with little to no scratches on them. I could watch video cassette tapes but if I were to record a program the picture would come out black and white. I had to send the VCR/DVD back to the manufacturer to see if they can repair the issue.

We have had such poor luck with DVD players in the past, especially combo players. We still have a lot of VHS tapes that we haven't converted yet. The Samsung has been playing really well and we are very pleased with it's performance.

I hooked the device up with the Red, White & Yellow AV cable. The DVD worked very well but the VCR did not work.
When I pressed play, my TV said there was no signal. When I pressed slow forward or fast forward in play mode, I got pictures with horizontal lines as though there were tracking issues. Adjusting the tracking did no good at all.
B&H agreed to accept my return and also suggested a different brand which I ordered.
I need the DVD/VCR combo as I don't have space for individual units and stand alone VCR's are becoming difficult to find.

I recently bought this unit as a gift for a family member.. It was very easy to hookup and operate.. The quality and features go well beyond what I had expected.. I don't know how it will do in the longterm, as most combo units ( regardless of make or model ) begin to experience problems within the first six months.. To date, I couldn't be happier with this units performance... Samsung makes good products...

I love just having one remote control..but after following instructions I am still unable to get the parental control to work. It is on kidsafe but not working. Also had to purchase a connector box because it wasn't compatable with my older t.v.

I've only had the product for a week but what I've noticed so far on one of the players is when you insert a vhs tape you must insert it 'straight' in - as there seems to be a little 'play' of the cassette cartridge during insertion.

My cable set top box has only a coax output, so I am unable to connect the cable signal to the dvd/vcr to record to vhs tape, as there is only RCA type input jacks on the player! ... This is a great low-priced combo for those who still have VHS tapes from the last century. Bought it for the bedroom, as I have a home theater system in the living room. Setup was very easy with my satellite box and HDTV. Couldn't use the HDMI, but that was because my TV only has one input, which is used by the satellite box. Instead, I used the component video and the signal is great on both DVDs and VHS. Highly recommended.
