The Dust Aid Platinum DSLR Cleaner takes dry sensor cleaning to a whole new level. Dust-Aid Platinum's specially engineered cleaning silicone is perfectly safe for use upon any sensor filter. No more dragging dry brushes and their accumulated dust across the sensor filter, which could lead to scratching. Just press and lift a couple of times and you're done!
Dust-Aid's Platinum DSLR Cleaner is made from a specially manufactured silicone, with a patent-pending micro texture on the cleaning surface which helps to stop the formation of a vacuum seal when it's applied to a surface. When the silicone is depressed on a surface, the micro texture flattens out and adheres to any dust or fibers. Then, when the pressure is released, the micro texture flexes back into place and allows air in, breaking the vacuum seal. This helps to reduce the adhesion strength and impact of the cleaning. It's now possible to clean any sensor filter, no matter what its coating or internal dust removal system (IDRS) filter housing happens to be.
The Dust-Aid Platinum DSLR cleaner comes with 6 silicone cleaning applications, and with the purchase of additional cleaning strips the lifespan of the Platinum DSLR cleaner can be extended indefinitely. The cleaning adhesive used to clean the silicone has been developed and tested not to transfer any of its adhesive to the silicone.

By far the safest, fastest and easiest cleaning method for dust on the sensor of all cleaning methods I've used. I now reserve wet cleaning for only stuck particles but always begin with Dust-Aid Platinum. Per use, its also the most economical method. Its simple to use, and unlike swabs, this will never contribute lint to the chamber that swabs can leave behind. Just get it, you won't be sorry. By the way, get the sensor loupe 7x model to EASILY see when your sensor is clean or dirty. Its one of the most useful items I own.

good to remove loose dust. As visible dust brushes can remove lot of dust very easily but still leave one dust particle behind, you will be easily remove exactly this last dust particle. To remove dust particles only with that tool seamed not the right way for me.
It is not easy to use this tool at the boarders of the senser (especially in the D3X).
Sticky dust can not be removed with this tool. There wet cleaning is the only working method for me.

Comments about Dust Aid Platinum DSLR Cleaner:
I had two small dust spots on my sensor and tried this product. It got the bigger of the two, but left an oily residue over have of my sensor. The product was new, right out of the box, the end of the wand was never touched. I am now looking at the wet method.

Comments about Dust Aid Platinum DSLR Cleaner:
By not swiping anything across the sensor, it is nearly impossible to harm your sensor. Works perfectly for dust. Cleaning the static pad can be a bit tricky, but nothing taxing and overall very easy to use with no complicated steps. Compact size is convenient for travel.

Product came with easy to understand instructions and worked as promised.I have a camera with a self cleaning sensor but there were some large specks it just wouldn't get rid of and in the past simply blowing the specks off resulted in them returning later so after a recommendation from a friend I took a chance on this product I would definitely recommend this to my friends

Any time I increase my apeture to F10 or greater I would find small spots on my pictures, both in Macro and Wide angle shots. The dots were dust particals on the sensor filter. This product does an excellent job in keeping the filter clean. My Canon 20D does not have an automatic sensor cleaner.

It's so easy...even a dog can do it!!!
Well...maybe not. But this is the simplest solution currently out there for an effective dry sensor clean. I wish I had this sooner.
The instructions are simple to follow, and thanks to the "Platinum" version, it is safe on Canon sensors.
Highly recommended!

I tried Platinum Dust-Aid on my Canon 40D sensor, and found it ineffective. I could tell no difference between the test shot I took before cleaning, and after. Disappointing.
