I've used this bag for a few years now and keep sticking with it. When I'm shooting wildlife it holds my 7D + 300L f/4 IS and Sigma 24-70, leaving a little extra room for maybe a flash. But if I switch to shooting portraits/events, I can fit 3 430EX's inside, along with the 7D, 400D, and two lenses. It's really versatile enough for just about anything I want to do, so long as I'm not bringing all the gear at once.

I do wish it was easier to access; I have to set it down to open it up and swap gear. But I've yet to find a sling-style bag that holds my gear as well as this one does. I also added one of Tamrac's MAS flash holders to the side, since it makes it easier to get to my 580EX quickly.

The tripod pocket is a bit of a joke - the bag is so short that a normal tripod would hit you in the head if you strapped it to the front. I just use the pocket for storage of lens caps, maps, granola bars, etc.

The outer pocket is pretty handy, I keep a flash extender, batteries, and misc accessories in there. The inside pocket is time consuming to get to, so I don't often use it. And the battery/card storage system on this bag is the weakest I've ever seen - the little pockets are at the top, and when you open the bag, it's very easy for cards/batteries to fall out onto the ground. Too easy to lose them that way, so I keep them in a Tamrac SAS holder instead.

Comments about Tamrac 5374 Adventure 74 Backpack (Rust):

I gave this bag 4 stars due to its size, however, the bag is really nice. I should have paid more attention to the sizing but I looked at the photos and it appeared that all my gear would fit. (I have a Canon XSi, 50mm, 18-55mm, 75-300mm, 10-20mm, and a 430 EXII flash) After some reconfiguration I was able to get it to fit, but it was extremely tight and would not allow me to grow at all. If you've only got a camera body and a lens are two this bag would be great.

Excellent backpack! I had the opportunity to check one out prior to my ordering online. So, it was no surprise that this backpack is right for me. It holds my DSLR wuith 70-300 zoom plus two other lenses with room to spare. It's a comfortable and STURDY unit. I can load all my stuff and cram it into an overhead bin with no concerns

I bought it and immediately took it to a two-week trip. It's a great camera backpack for my Canon 60D, 77mm lens, EX 550 flash, and a camcorder, and lots of room for the batteries and memory cards and a small wallet.

I have upgraded from a smaller pack to the 5375 Adventurer, easy to reconfigure the deviders to accomodate the different sizes of lens and other accessories, the padding are thick for protection on those expensive lenses and camera body.
Lots of pockets for the other stuff like those CF cards, extra batteries, etc.

If you have big telephotos or 2.8 telephotos then this bag can be a little tight. I shoot with 2 bodies and 2 lenses a 24-70 and 70-200 and in order to fit all of it i have disassemble everything which isnt very convenient. I also have a flash unit which i have to store in the secondary compartment. The build quality is very good, the zippers are a little tough to close but better than the opposite, and the best feature is how inconspicuous this bag looks. Overall if you have smaller equipment or primes this is a good bag.

This bag is amazingly durable. I've had it for almost 2 years with a good bit of use and there's barely any signs of wear. Unfortunately it does not fit my tall slender from the best but the bag is designed for the average person. It has plenty of room for lenses and a non-grip SLR. One thing it lacks is much accessory space. The tripod mount system is great for small tripods.

ok I gave this 5 stars because I really have no problems with it. I wish I would of been more along the size of a regular backpack but oh well. It still doesnt looklike a camera backpack which is what I wanted.
For the good, it easily hold my camer, 4 lenses, lens hoods, shoe flash, and filters, cards and other small things. The padding is great. I could easily carry this when hiking or walking long distances. I definitely recommend it for anymore looking for a good backpack.

It is well padded and offers excellent protection. It's a backpack, so yes you have to take it off to access your gear. That's a tradeoff I was willing to make.

My only suggestion for this little dude is that the tripod pocket is a bit shallow and makes it hard to actually carry a regular sized tripod. Probably better suited for a monopod. But for all-day hiking with limited gear, this is a great little pack.

Comments about Tamrac 5374 Adventure 74 Backpack (Rust):

I use this pack for event photography that doesn't require me to carry all my photo gear. The adjustable compartment size makes it a flexable pack. I wish the inside compartment on the lid was split into 2 compartments.

Comments about Tamrac 5374 Adventure 74 Backpack (Rust):

This backpack is incredibly versitle. I bought it for an upcoming trip to safely store my camera and accessories. It works great for cameras with fairly long lenses attached. I was a little hesitant to buy this on-line because the size seemed a little too small and I was trying to upgrade from a smaller bag. The pictures made it easy to make the purchase and I am glad that I did. The only thing that I didn't like initially was how it fit me. With a few adjustments that the backpack had, it's simply an afterthought.

A backpack that you don't need to be a hiker to carry around with enough room for my 20D Tamron 28-75 and Canon 70-200 F4L, and room to grow. I love the feel of this and the interior is quite roomy. My only complaint is that I wish they would provide move velcro straps for the inside.

I am an advanced amature photographer and take this pack with me everyday. It works well for me because it's compact yet holds my K10D SLR, 24-70 2.8, 25mm 2.8, 10-20mm,and 28-300. As well as 2 extra batteries, filters lens shades, and other various things. Works well for me and holds a tripod too which was a main reason I picked this pack. It's well made and durable.
