Perfect camera backpack. I've tried many in this price bracket and this one is the best. Others were too tight with not enough room, or too expensive. This bag is absolutely perfect with plenty of room and is built very well all at a reasonable price. What more could I ask for!

This pack is designed to hold a lot of gear. It is just too wide, deep and stiff for me. I carry the basics; camera body, 3 lenses, flash, and accessories. This bag is very "boxy" and seems to advertise the fact that there is some expensive camera gear inside. Quality of workmanship seems just fine. I doubt the pack would fit under an airline seat as a carry on.

This pack is perfect if like a pair of shoes, it fits you. If you want to store your pro 70-200 (with shoe) on your camera, no problem. an extra 24-70 pro, no problem. An extra smaller prime will also fit in. A flash and a few smaller accessories can be wedged in also. (all nicely protected) More storage in inside zippered pockets and a generous zippered flattish storage area on the outside. (I Pad yes laptop no). Infinitely adjustable padded straps to smooth out the burden. No rain cover, but I think they are limited anyway because they don't cover the whole bag. I carry a folded plastic bag inside to insure total protection. You need to remove the pack for access, but I shoulder my camera & lens on sight anyway. If this is the way you work/travel look no further.

overall well constructed backpack, but needs more pockets to handle gear. I added a side pocket and photo card wallet to get it set up right. This works well, but added another $65 to the cost. Just enough room for two camera bodies and three lenses +flash. Overall comfortable to use even with a heavy load.

Can't go wrong with a Tamrac, this little bad boy is great for holding 4 lenses including an attached 70-200mm. Wish they had at least one more compartment to throw misc. items in.
One improvement is instead of having the tripod attachment in the front of the bag (you have to remove the tripod every time you want to access the main storage), have it as a side attachment.
Overall great bag, simple and easy to use.

holds a lot of gear, I have a Nikon D90 with attached Sigma 120-400mm and still have room for a Sigma 70-200mm, Nikkor 18-55mm, a speedlight, large GorillaPod with ball head and all my small accessories.

I do lots of photography, travel, small gathering, small wedding and volunteer work.
I outgrew my original "Outpack" needed something compact, durable and weatherproof. So far it has met my needs. Only wish it had and inch or so more depth.

Roomy enough to fit my Nikon D90 camera
I have two lenses, a flash and still room for more items in this bag.

Bag has plenty of room even for my big Sigma 100-300. Construction seems very durable. The bag is smaller than my old Kata 466 yet holds FAR more inside.

Definitely recommend this bag.

I carry a Canon "L" lens. 100x400. Plus, a T1I a 7D and two other lenses. It compartmentalizes all my stuff for easy access. And a great bargain for the money and versatility....

I have purchased several bags over the years and I never found just the right one until now. I have a Canon 50D with battery grip, a 70-200mm, 24-105mm lens, and a wide angle lens I like to go hiking with. All of my lenses, camera and accessories fit easily into this bag and it is very comfortable on my shoulders. And it is very well constructed with enough pockets and lots of padding. Overall, I'm very pleased with this bag and would recommend it to anyone.

Before, I bought this backpack I also considered another similar product from Lowepro. After comparing them at B&H, I decided to go with this Tamrac backpack due to its better and stronger construction material than a similar product from Lowepro.

IMO, especally for the camera backpack, I would recommend to check and try them out at the store first, before you purchase them. This way, you know which one you feel comfortable with and it also meet your need.

Excellent storage space for all of my phototgraphy equipment, I don't know why I didn't purchase one of these 4 years ago. If you have a variety of camera equipment and want an all in one bag to carry it all, this is the one.

I needed a back pack to carry my two DSLR's on those photo treks when i needed extra gear. I have a shoulder bag and a sling bag but they could not carry what I needed or were uncomfortable for long periods of time. This back pack holds what I need and is comfortable on my back. I would recommmend this back pack (or the next size up if you have longer lenses than I do).

I was never really a "backpack" person. On a photo shoot / hike a fellow friend had one of these. I noticed how easy it was for her to access her camera and lens. She raved about it and said that there was a larger version but this one was light weight and met her needs. I bought it! The backpack is just large enough and is so functional. I was so lucky to actually talk with someone before buying it. I hope you find this review helpful. If you purchase this you won't go wrong!!

Great product. Spacious and good padding all around to protect my gears – just what I wanted. I liked the quality of design and material used. The back straps are easily adjustable. I really liked the straps in the bottom that go around my waist – it helps to position the backpack properly on my back and minimized wobble when I am on a trail. Overall I would recommend this product to my friends.

If you've got this much gear there's no easy way to carry it. When you have to bring it all along this pack does it safely & securely. The zippers are balky at 1st but with time get easier. If you haul a tripod it should be as light as possible otherwise its leverage tends to pull awkwardly. Super serious photo-hikers should consider more expensive backpack for comfort but within reason this one will do fine. It holds my Canon 40D, 70-300mm, 10-22mm, 18-55mm, 60mm macro, 580EX and lens hoods with room to spare. Loaded up it weighs about 16 lbs.

This is an update from by previous review on 5/21/2008. Just a couple of things. First the backpack is boxy and as I've heard before screams "camera". Compared to my Northface backpack (I know it is not a camera back but still) it is much more bulky and squaresh and funny looking. Next, in my previous review I wrote that it would hold a Nikon D200 w/ battery pack, Nikon 50 f/1.8, Tokina 12-24 f/4, Tamron 28-75 f/2.8, 70-200 f/2.8 Sigma 150-500 also a Nikon sb-800, and a variety of filters and such. This is not entirely true. It fits it all but I never got the 150-500 and don't think it would fit. I have got one to two slots left for medium to small lenses. Also note that these lenses do NOT have the lens hood on them (except for the 70-200 which is attached to the camera and goes straight down the center column) at all (not even reversed) they are in the mesh pocket in the front. Finally the build quality is great and after traveling has held up very well. Oh and one last thing, it is very difficult to access and change lenses. But this is with most backpacks.
