Comments about Ion LPDOCK USB Turntable with iPod Dock for Recording:
This is the way to go if you have a stash of albums you want to incorporate into your music library. It's easy to connect and works seamlessly with ITunes. Disc software that came with product was slightly bent and would not read in disc drive. That problem was solved by easy software download through EZ Vinyl Converter. Still, this product was well worth the investment.

Comments about Ion LPDOCK USB Turntable with iPod Dock for Recording:
Am using the ION Dock to convert old vinyl records to a digital format. It was lightweight and easy to assemble except for rather obscure instructions regarding the weighting of the tone arm. Took some time and head-scratching, but it worked the first time, copying a relatively unused record with wonderful results. Used it with a very old well-worn record and was, again, pleased with the results which, of course, included the popping and hissing of the older vinyl and its various scratches. For anyone wanting to extract a better sound than the original, a little more work would be involved. The Dock came with Audacity software which made it easy to edit the sound files from the older record, trimming a section where the needle got stuck so no one would even suspect. One drawback is the recommendation that no other programs be open on the computer while recording is taking place, so the user needs to plan a sufficient chunk of time accordingly when dedicating the computer to the task of recording. Am planning to use the ION Dock to transfer audio files from cassette tapes as well.
