The Dynalite MH2050 Roadmax Flash Head is a fan cooled, economical, minimum weight head with a 2000 watt/second flash tube. It has a built-in recessed reflector with 140° coverage with no hot spot for even light dispersion. Other reflectors can be added if desired for different degrees of coverage.
The MH2050 has many of the same specifications as the 2040, which it replaces. Improvements include lighter weight, slightly smaller size, and a direct-plug method for the head-to-pack cable. The elimination of the pigtail ensures a better connection to the power pack, and it saves space when you pack the head away in your location case.
A power supply for this flash head is required.

Comments about Dynalite MH2050 Roadmax Flash Head - 2000 Watt/Seconds:
I really wish it had a "pig tail" like the older model instead of the plug in for the cable attachment. I don't like fumbling around finding the receptacle when I can't get behind the head.

I use this head primarily for location work. It is very light, well made, durable, and produces wonderful light with a built in reflector.

Comments about Dynalite MH2050 Roadmax Flash Head - 2000 Watt/Seconds:
Moved to a pack and head dynalite setup with 3 of these heads and a M1000Wi pack and I'm never looking back to my Alien Bees.
While Alien Bees are good lights for a novice or entry-level photographer, they leave much to be desired in the color consistency department. I was seeing differences as much as 5000K (from the over shots to the under shots, not off the average) in a shoot and if you ever do catalog, that is unacceptable. I needed dead-on color and output and dynalite delivers. There is an occasional frame that strays but I would say it's only maybe one frame in a 250 shot set.
The only downfall of these heads is the built-in reflector and the design that does not allow Dynalite's 18" beauty dish to be used, I've always had to rent a Mola instead. There is a reason for it in the design of the head that allows for its compact size and I have no regrets not purchasing the SH2000 heads.
I do have to also say the cable detaching from the head instead from the leader cable like the 2040 heads is a much better design that travels far better.
