The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX35 Digital Camera has an ultra slim body, yet it contains a professional quality 4x wide-angle zoom lens that is equivalent to a 25 - 100mm lens in 35mm terms. This permits you to easily capture a large group of people, or expansive architectural structures and landscapes with dynamic width and rich perspective. The telephoto end of the camera's zoom can also be extended an additional 7.1x (when shooting 3 megapixels or less) with minimal loss of image quality thanks to the Extra Optical Zoom feature.
The top quality Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens also provides an ingenious combination of two anti blur systems (MEGA O.I.S and Intelligent ISO control), which ensures that you'll get consistently sharp and bright images, regardless of the shooting situation. Furthermore, the Venus Engine III advanced image-processing engine can record at a sensitivity setting as high as ISO 1250, which provides fast camera functioning and keeps power usage down so you can keep shooting pictures all day.
The DMC-FX35 has a bright, high resolution LCD display that measures 2.5" diagonally so that you can easily frame your shots and then review and share your pictures with family and friends. The camera's controls are also very intuitive with a logical mode dial, a one-touch function button you use to quickly access commonly used menu selections. It also has a slew of scene modes for getting the best possible exposure, without the need to manually adjust all of the camera settings. In addition, the camera is extremely energy efficient, so that the included lithium-ion battery can provide 300 shots on a single charge.

- Image blur is commonly caused by either movement of the camera or movement of the subject. Camera movement is corrected with the MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilization) feature which uses built-in gyro-sensors to detect the smallest camera movement and instantaneously shifts a lens element in the opposite direction to compensate, giving you sharp, clear images without deterioration. Motion blur - caused when a subject moves as the shot is being taken - is minimized with Intelligent ISO Control. I just got my Lumix DMC-FX35. I replaced a DMC-LC33. I love the new camera. The photos look great. It starts up quickly, and the lens no longer comes out when you are uploading to the PC. It does not have a viewfinder, but it has a big screen, and for what I use it for (kid shots), I don't miss that. I like having a button to toggle back and forth between viewing and taking pictures, and this new version is so compact. I look forward to learning how to do movies.

So far I have been very satisfied with this camera. It's easy to use, looks good, fits well in the hand. I wish that it had more manual features- I know it's a point and click, but it's a little harder to get exactly what you want than I might like. Other than that, the picture quality is excellent and I would highly recommend this camera. Oh, and it really does fit in your pocket- it's amazing, so if you are at an event you can easily put it away and not have it be too bulky.

I bought this camera for my mum when she was going on a trip to Israel. She found the camera really easy to operate. Though she is not a gifted photographer by any means, she came out with some great pictures. The depth of field on this cam is great in the auto scene selection mode and there is virtually no shutter lag.

I'm still getting to know the camera but the menu options are very easy to figure out. I recently took photos outdoors when the sun was directly above. But the photos came out great. The camera adjusted and nothing was too bright. The photos were crisp and beautiful. Overall, I would say you were getting the best of all possible worlds - high mega pixel resolution, wider lens size, and plenty of zoom.

The on and off switch couldn't make turning it on/off any easier.
Normal picture mode is easier than intelligent iso mode.
Many scene selections-i recommend party for indoors.
I have to keep my exposure up a third.
Great amount of megapixels.
Annoying little red light on intel. iso mode.
Just about everything can be turned off or on.
Wide angle.
Face selection.
Goes on and off quickly.
No viewfinder, though I haven't found i needed it yet.
You must zoom Before pressing record in video mode.
Better than my previous, old Olympus.
