The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS20 Digital Camera provides easy and simple operation so that users at every level of photographic expertise can enjoy taking beautiful pictures. The DMC-FS20 can also record WVGA (848 x 480) motion images at 30 fps for impressive viewing on a wide-screen HDTV display, in addition to standard VGA (640 x 480) & QVGA (320 x 240) options.
The DMC-FS20 features Panasonic's exclusive iA (Intelligent Auto) mode, which is comprised of 5 shooting-assist functions (Mega O.I.S., Intelligent ISO Control, Intelligent Scene Selector, Face Detection and Quick AF functions), to get the best results from every shooting opportunity. Once you enter iA mode, these multi-capable functions engage simultaneously and automatically so that you can shoot without the bother of adjusting settings every time conditions change, and you can enjoy the satisfaction that comes with capturing clear, beautiful images at all times.
All of these great automated features are driven by the latest high performance Venus Engine IV image processor, which also provides stunning responsiveness with fast burst capability (up to 6 fps) and an almost instantaneous shutter.

- With a resolution of 10.1 Megapixels, you'll be able to produce high resolution images that can yield photo quality 30 x 40" prints. The camera also has resolution options that are available in three different aspect ratios - 16:9 for displaying on a wide screen monitor or TV, 3:2 for making standard photo album prints, and 4:3 for more traditional image dimensions common in picture frames.
- 4x Optical Zoom Wide-angle Lens
- The 30mm wide-angle Leica DC Vario-Elmar lens with 4x optical zoom takes wider shots than a typical point-and-shoot camera - helpful in small rooms or crowded places, letting you fit more people into a group photo. There's also an Easy Zoom button on the camera top - just press it, and the optical zoom and Extra Optical Zoom instantly extend to full telescopic position. - High Sensitivity with Intelligent ISO Control
- The High Sensitivity mode increases the equivalent ISO sensitivity range of the camera to an incredible ISO 1600-6400 - making it possible to take sharp, blur-free shots of active children or pets even in indoor settings with limited light, or without a flash. The Intelligent ISO uses advanced subject-motion detection circuitry to sense when your subject is moving and raises the camera's ISO sensitivity and shutter speed settings accordingly. This suppresses motion blur and also makes it easy to shoot scenes with fast moving action.

- Image blur is commonly caused by either movement of the camera or movement of the subject. Camera movement is corrected with the MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilization) feature which uses built-in gyro-sensors to detect the smallest camera movement and instantaneously shifts a lens element to compensate, giving you sharp, clear images without deterioration. Additionally, a Blur Indicator lets you confirm that the camera is precisely detecting and compensating for hand-shake and any motion blur.

- The Face Detection function can detect up to 15 faces in a scene then automatically adjust the camera settings to make sure faces appear well-lit and in focus. This advanced technology will even automatically readjust the settings if the positions of the subjects change while you are framing the shot.

The camera is very small and compact. It has a great LCD dsisplay. I haven't still managed to read all the instructions and it produces out of focus images when the subject is moving, but I guess that this will be fixed once I will learn how to use it. And the good shots are really fantastic. The battery duration is disappointing since after one of the three indicator bars turned off just after 30 shots.

I got this for my mother to take pictures of her grandkids. For that purpose it works great. The LCD is awesome and the zoom range perfect for everyday snapshots. Very easy to turn on and take pictures. One can get more advanced with some menu work. Playback is just as easy and that LCD lets you see a lot of detail. It is a very small camera which has its pros and cons.
All in all a great little camera with a great LCD and lens (Leica)

As a professional photographer, i was looking for a small snap shot camera to go around the world light of equipment. So I' ve choose this camera becouse its lenses (no more words to say about LEICA) in adittion to its 10 Mpx are pretty good to take good pictures to my computer, its small side is another great thing becouse i used to carry heavy weights in my work.
Its price it is another big issue for me.

I bought this camera to replace a Canon Power shot A70 that crashed and burned. This one is 3x the camera with an easy to use menu that makes it almost effortless. The big screen is a main reason I bought it, but once I got it and used it, I realized this camera has more to offer than just what is on the surface. Picture color is vivid and clarity is remarkable. Well worth the cost for my needs.
