The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS80 Digital Camera features 8.1 megapixel resolution for superb image detail, and the Panasonic Intelligent Image Stabilization system with MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) and Intelligent ISO Control compensates for the effects of hand-shake and subject movement, making it possible to capture clear, crisp photos indoors, at night, during action shots, or when taking macro close-ups. The 3x optical zoom Lumix DC Vario lens provides a slightly wide equivalent focal length of 33 - 100mm on a 35mm film camera, plus up to 4.8x extra optical zoom and 4x digital zoom provide tremendous image flexibility.
In addition, the exterior of the DMC-LS80, incorporates a sleek ergonomic design that looks great and feels good in your hand, and the bright 2.5-inch LCD makes it easy to frame and view your images, and video clips. The user-friendly menu and its graphical user interface have also been optimized using brighter colors for easier viewability. The DMC-LS80 is powered by two simple AA batteries, which can be purchased anywhere, and the camera also accepts large-capacity SDHC memory cards, giving users more flexibility in shooting and recording.

Comments about Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS80 Digital Camera (Black):
I'm a certified Pro graduate of NYIP. I opened my freelance practice in 1999. I've shot over 1,000,000 commercial digital images. I also teach photography at a local Art Centre. I also belong to a Photographer's Group. One of my Pro friends was surprised to learn that I didn't own a point and shoot, so that I could always have a camera with me. So I got to thinking that it might be a good idea. I decided to make it difficult for a Point and Shoot to lure me in. I jotted down all of the parameters I wanted the camera to have and then I topped it off by placing a $100 cap on the purchase price. I came across this camera. When I studied the Specs, I couldn't believe what I was reading. So I purchased it, knowing I could always trust B & H, (I bought a lot of equipment through them over the years.) I also ordered the 2 gig card. The 21 Scene features are amazing. Those can be manipulated to virtually the equivalent of shooting in Manual, (which I do chronically with my 35 mm DSLRs.) The 24 Bit Depth, produces colors as good as my $5000 primary Pro Camera. The 7 Color Modes give me filters of Warm, Cool, plus B & W and Sepia. There are 2 Optical Image Stabilization choices and the option of turning it off, for when I use my tripod. I keep it set to 'Intelligent' Mode when it's in my pocket, so that if I have to grab it for a quick shot, it will handle any situation. The metering system is very accurate. I was amazed too that it has Auto Exposure Bracket, that works by taking one shot. This feature is usually only available with higher cost cameras. It also has a feature where I can select the Aspect Ratio. There are three: 3:2, (35mm equivalent), 4:3 and 16:9 for movie mode. Oh yes it has a movie mode. Haven't used it much. But that's one of the reasons I bought it. I hope to dig in to that later. The flash settings include Auto, Forced On, Forced Off and Auto Red Eye. It has two settings for self timer. I could go on and on. I suggest you read the Specs. You won’t believe that a camera at this price can have all of these features at this price. Neither did I; but it’s true. I carry this little camera with me everywhere and use it a lot and it fits in my pocket. If you purchase this camera, you may end up like me: shooting DSLRs less and less.

Comments about Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS80 Digital Camera (Black):
Everything I looked at in this price range was pretty pathetic until I stumbled across this puppy. I am really knocked out by how good the pictures it takes are, how many features it has that I actually use, and how easy it is to operate. I'd recommend it both for beginners and for more advanced photographers. The regular AA batteries are a plus, too. (I hate rechargeable batteries, but if you love 'em it also takes rechargeable AAs.)

You need smthg simple, easy & taking excellent pictures & u can keep it in your pocket? This is perfect camera for you. Works great, takes excellent pictures within limits provided by spex. As usual keep handy second set of AA batteries. If you from EU & visiting B&H, dont hesitate, this camera is twice more expensive in EU Land ;)
