The black BodyBag Pro from LensCoat is a camera body pouch made from soft shock-absorbing neoprene, protecting a digital SLR camera body from the nicks, dings and scratches of accidental impact. It also keeps the camera body free from dust and dirt and protects it from the elements. The BodyBag has a touch fastener closure that makes storage and access quick and easy.
It is designed to fit pro camera bodies, prosumer bodies with the optional body grip installed, SLR camera bodies with extended power winder and cameras with L-brackets mounted. This version comes in a matte all-black finish to better blend in where desirable. Or, it can be used just for its protection value.

I picked up a few of these to pack as much as possible into a Think Tank Speed Racer for a long bus ride to photograph our school's marching band performance at Disney World. With these covers I managed to get a D3100,gripped D300,D3s,80-400mm and a 10.5mm fisheye into a waistpack for a LONG,bumpy, bumpy bus ride! Not one scratched LCD,nick or ding! These things work great, while taking up the least possible space. These things kept me from having to take a much larger bag with dividers in it. Once there I just left them at the hotel.

Great idea, however body bag material is not heavy enough for great protection. Camera body can still be damaged when banging around in the camera bag. I would like to see the material to be at least 3 to 5 MM more like a wet suit. Camera can still be damaged by lenses and other items in my camera bag. Body bag will provide some protection , But in my option not enough.

What's to say about these Lenscoat products that isn't obvious? The neoprene envelope effectively pads your camera body in tight carry-on bags. I found that the Lenscoat BodyBag for the 1D Mark IV fit great, but was a bit loose on the Canon 5D, which is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.

a product that does just what it's supposed to. It doesn't cover for hard hits, mainly dust, scratches and light bumps. Works well when you travel and keep your back up body in your backpack bumping among other stuff.

Comments about LensCoat BodyBag Pro (Black):
I store my back up camera in this body bag so it won't collect as much dust and so I can easily tell my cameras apart. It fits the D3 nicely, but not too snugly, and provides dust protection and a little impact protection, but it's not super thick so I don't plan to test its ability to absorb a 6' drop.

I bought this item as an experiment, and I will now buy 2 more. My intent is to "stack" 2 or 3 bodies in BodyBags in the center column of my shoulder bag when I want to pack "small." These bags offer more protection and take less space than wraps or padded dividers. With the help of these bags, I'll still have room for 2 or 3 large zooms. Typical of LensCoat products, the bags are nicely designed, and well made.

Nice stretchable spandex. I was pleased to see that the "Pro" size fits full pro-sized bodies, stretching nicely to fit both my Nikon D3 and D700 with attached battery grip. It's nice to have the extra layer of protection when I put the camera into a bag.

Sometimes I just want to use a regular backpack to store my camera equipment, especially in situations I don't want to advertize that I am carrying professional equipment in a "designer" camera bag. These neoprene cases are perfect for camera bodies and lenses for that purpose.

Bought one for my D3, was so pleased with it I purchased a Body Guard so I could protect with a lens attached, and a Body Bag (non-Pro) for my D200. The stretchable material enables a very nice fit and good protection.
