The 160GB HyperDrive COLORSPACE O Portable Memory Card Reader from Sanho is a portable, battery-powered device that allows you to transfer pictures from your digital camera's memory card at speeds of 25MB/sec. This lets you download a full 1GB memory card to the hard drive in under one minute. The device is compatible with 11 types of memory cards, and features a large 3.2" color LCD screen for image review. The HyperDrive is an excellent choice for professional photographers who often find themselves filling a memory card while in the field.

Unit with the latest firmware works great (initially, it did not!).
Quick backup, and able to upgrade drive of your capacity choice.
Battery needs a little foam to secure it in place, but is fairly priced and easily replaceable. It would have been nice to have easy access to the battery compartment.
Do handle with care, as the drive is not shock mounted, or the case made of the most resilient plastic. But with a little care, this is a great unit. Handle like a lens !
I found the controls very easy to navigate!

I brought this to my Europe trip, and after few days of using, it stop working. It was bad as I planned to use this as a backup as well as the interface for SD card to PC.
Anyway, as I returned home, I opened this product, and found that the internal design of this hardware is so poorly done. (I'm an experienced computer hardware designer.) A battery is hold between two pieces of metal. It can easily loose the contact on possible small shock.
The only good part is that this product is designed to make the disk replace-able. So, I could take the disk out, and connect it directly to my PC via a snap-in SATA disk interface.
I even gave up fixing this junk, as I will not use this poorly designed product for future use anyway.
So, I suggest not to buy this product.
I just hope I can find a similar product from more reliable company.

Im a professional photographer who bought this drive for a 6 week location job in Africa. I shot over 80 gigs. I used both Compact flash cards and San disk. The drive does Download fast! Previewing Raw Images are slow. Building thumbnails for a 4 gig card took about 45mins!!!
It seemed to all work ok, till I got home. Im a Mac user and Half of the files downloaded till it froze! I pressed the quit button and a message popped up and read (Device removal) The drive failed to mount and was not able to view the images even on the drive. I tried using programs such as Disk Warrior and Disk Utility. Both failed to recognize the drive. I had to pay a lot of money to recover the rest of the 40 gigs! That ended up working but the drive still is not recognized. I tried to contact the company via email and are very slow.
I would not buy or recommend this drive to anybody!

I purchased this unit to back up CF cards on a trip to Yellowstone and avoid taking a laptop. Although the price of CF cards has come down to the degree that you can buy enough to last a whole trip, I am a firm believer in having two copies of everything. So far I'm pleased with the unit. Pro's - very fast download of images off the card (Extreme III and Ultra II cards). Much faster than a USB card reader. Like the idea that you can upgrade the hard drive at any point, however I expect that 160 GB will be more than sufficient for quite some time. As others have pointed out the interface takes some getting used to. The full size thumbnails are almost hidden. Screen does not compare with the Epson, but this model give 4x the storeage of the P-3000 for basically the same price. Documentation has been improved substantially over what I read about in other reviews so that helps offset the somewhat clumsy interface. No movie or MP3 capability, but I have an iPod for that. Too soon to tell about the ultimate reliability. I would not drop it though as it does not give the impression of shock resistance.

I use the product on vacations. Great to getting your friends pictures of your kids!!! Navigating is not that user friendly. For the price you can't beat it. Comes with AC power cord and 12v DC for the car and can be charged via USB. That's cool!!

The unit very quickly downloads raw data from compact flash cards. You can see the pictures from a Canon 40D with no problem. Plenty of space for pictures from long trips. Learning the menu is somewhat complex, but the owner's manual is clear.
