Celestron AC to DC Power Adapter
The Celestron AC to DC Power adapter has a standard 2-prong North American power plug on a ~6' cord on one end, and a 5.5mm circular DC output jack on a ~6 cord on the other side; in between is a transformer box. The North American plug cord is detachable from the transformer; the cord with the 5.5mm DC plug point is permanently attached to the transformer. Output of this unit is consistently 12 volts DC.
This allows AC 120-240V, 50-60 Hz AC current supplies to power any of the Celestron telescopes with the 5.5mm DC input on their drive base, a long list of items which includes the Advanced, Celestar 8, CG9/11/14, CI700, CPC, CGE, NexStar i, NexStar SE, Celestron NexStar i, NexStar SE, Ultima 2000 series and others.

If you hate batteries and have access to a 110V outlet this is for you!
When the telescope rotates you have to be mindful of it or the cord will become tangled around the tripod legs and come unplugged.

guided by previous reviewers I purchased this adaptor to eliminate the constant renewing of batteries and of course it does what it is design to do. It came with US type AC plug but converting it to local plug was not a problem, have used over several hours on many nights lately and highly recommend

I do a lot of my viewing from my yard or friends cabins and having a AC power sources at those locations makes using my scope worry free. It uses a lot of batteries otherwise. I am building a portable power supply for off the grid viewing as I am not sold on single cell battery power.
