This clamp is great, and can be clamped onto almost anything less than a couple inches wide. I'm really happy I got this one instead of the cheaper ones - you can definitely see the Manfrotto quality put into this product. It's a lot heavier than I thought it would be but that just means it's a solid clamp.

There are cheaper options available, but the build quality isn't quite as dependable and durable as the Manfrotto.

The money you save getting the cheaper clamps is only a few dollars, so in my opinion it's worth paying the extra to get a solid product with a better stud.

Not sure I need the stud, so be sure that you need it, otherwise you can get it w/o it. Otherwise works as advertised, although the jaw insert could be better.

Works wonderfully and holds everything I've ever attached to it. It weighs a ton so taking it in mu luggage requires some consideration. I do wish it came with a coupld of the different spigots/brass monkeys.

There are many uses for this product...not just for photography. One suggestion for improvement would be to use a similar handle/locking system that they use on their tripod heads with this type of handle, whereas the user can tighten the clamp, but then pull up on the handle to rotate it to a different position, thus out of the way. The way it works, now, the user must leave the handle in whatever position it ends up in when tightened, which means that it may sometimes be in the way. But, that is a small price to pay for this excellent clamp.

I use this for mounting my monitor to my tripod or my rods support. Works great, is solid and I trust it with my $1K monitor.

I use this in conjunction with a Manfrottto 498 RC2 head and my avenger c-stand. I mounted a D700 and put ti 9 feet in teh air for time-lapse photographry. I did buy the additional 3/8 stud to fit the Manfrotto head. This is a great product! Well worth the money

I used this to mount a time lapse camera and it worked great. The clamp stayed tight the entire time the camera was mounted (camera was upside down at an angle) and never came loose.
