The Swann SW241-UD4-11000 provides you with a simple and cost effective solution for managing the viewing and recording of up to four of your analog CCTV cameras using your existing PC. Unlike DVR cards, this unit plugs right into the PC's USB port, eliminating the hassle of having to open and install a PCI board inside the computer. With this system in place, you will be able to view all four cameras on your existing PC monitor as well as record images to the computer's hard drive. As with a stand alone DVR, you can program the unit to record images continuously or only when motion is detected. This will save storage space, which in turn will make it easier to locate event footage. By connecting your PC to the network, you will also be able to view live video streams from a remote location using an Internet PC or even certain compatible cell phones.

Comments about Swann SW241-UD4-11000 USB 2.0 DVR Guardian:
I have bought several brands of USB DVRs and none delivered what I was looking for or needed. The Swann USB 2.0 DVR Guardian gives me everything it said it would and is so so simple to set up and use. I particularly like the e-mail capabilities so that I can check on my home from work. The motion detection is fantastic.

Comments about Swann SW241-UD4-11000 USB 2.0 DVR Guardian:
The product itself is great and very easy to connect and use. No hurdle to jump over as far as that is concern. My only problem with SWANN is how to use it with a multiple camera feed to the same line. I can only manually switch to each of my camera instead of all cameras on the video screen.

Comments about Swann SW241-UD4-11000 USB 2.0 DVR Guardian:
I was debating spending some big money on a 4-channel DVR system with built-in harddrive, but then I found this USB 4-channel DVR (it writes files to your computer harddrive). It works exactly as described, was very easy to install and configure, and the email notification works great as well. It does get a bit hot, so bear that in mind....but this has never been an issue for me so far. The remote viewing was also very easy to configure...I was impressed with the quality of the picture that I was getting on the remote computer. All-in-all, this is a great device...especially with the email notification.
