This Manfrotto 042 Extension Arm is a 6" extension arm that plugs into the Super Clamp, and allows use of either the standard stud or a 5/8" diameter adapter. Ideal for hanging a light or a camera from a pole.

I needed something small, sturdy and not too expensive to allow me to angle my 22" Alien Bees Beauty dish. The length of the beuty dish made it so I couldn't angle the head down, which was not what I wanted. I ordered this extension arm, which has made the angle I can tilt the beauty dish much more useable. The only bad thing is that I had to sand the silver stud end so that the strobe would fit on it. It's not a standard spigot size, but it only took about 10 minutes to sand it round to allow it to fit securely on my strobe. That's the only reason I gave it a 4/5 stars, but it's really well made and doesn't make my 13 foot light stand feel unstable at all. Just place the strobe over one of the legs and you'll be good to go.

I use this with a Manfrotto Super Clamp and find it to be a very useful, well-made product. It makes the clamp useful for a wider variety of applications and is very sturdy.
I use this to mount flash heads for location shoots and have had no problems with it.... highly recommended accessory for the clamp.
