The Swann SW211-DPE-14130 combines a color camera, motion detector and recorder into a single compact and easy to use unit. Place it at a strategic location in your home or business and the unit will automatically start recording when it senses motion. Aside from being the only images you'll want to see anyways, motion detection based recording saves on storage space and makes it easy to locate event footage.

Images are recorded onto an optional SD memory card, up to 1GB in capacity that goes right into the unit. Recorded images can be viewed by placing the SD card into an SD card reader or by connecting the unit to a PC using the supplied USB cable. With the option of running on 9V battery power, this unit is truly a self-contained, portable camera/recording surveillance system.

Comments about Swann SW211-DPE-14130 Digital Private Eye w/Motion Detection:

Easy to install out of the box. I put it in an unoccupied beach cottage because someone was going in when no one was around. When I returned in a week someone had enter the house but there were no pictures. I then tried to have it take a picture of me on purpose but could never get it to work. The green indicator would go on and off when motion was detected but no picture was ever recorded.

Comments about Swann SW211-DPE-14130 Digital Private Eye w/Motion Detection:

First off, this product will only run on a 9v battery by plugging an adapter into the a/c adapter slot and the battery just hanging out of the device. Not so good for a security device, and then the battery is only good for 3-8 hours. That being said, if you don't mind the a/c adapter and cord dangling from the device and to a plug-in, it works fine. Detects motion and snaps a jpg every 3 seconds. It has an annoying green light that lights up when motion is detected and so if you are wanting it to be low-key and snap pictures its not that. Overall, not too bad of a product.

Swan dpe-14130 ok for the price

Comments about Swann SW211-DPE-14130 Digital Private Eye w/Motion Detection:

Nice self contained device. Does not take a picture well for a moving object with it mounted at 6 1/2 ft. Testing showed the person moving by as blurry. Might work better if mounted higher.

The picture quality is good as long as the subject is not moving by at a normal rate. The subject becomes bluried. THis was at 6ft in height.
