This stand is a lot lighter then I had expected and I'm not thrilled about the plastic fittings but other then that had worked great with a little weight added.

I was looking for something sturdy enough to hold my Bowen compact lights and compact enough to travel with in a suitcase. This is a great product.

Comments about Manfrotto 366B Basic Black Light Stand - 6.4' (1.9m):
I was really impressed on the weight of this stand. My speedlight is actually heavier then the stand. Hold speedlight, triggers, adapter, and 45' umbrella no problem. Would not suggest with heavier monolights. great for a speedlight though.

Comments about Manfrotto 366B Basic Black Light Stand - 6.4' (1.9m):
I use these stands to hold Nikon SB (24 - 28) speed lights and White Lightning X800 strobes for off camera lighting.
The build quality is awesome as usual with Manfrotto and these stands have small features that make them great in comparison to other lightweight stands.
I love the size of the extension tighteners, they're large and easy to make quick adjustments in height when needed. A small, but crucial feature I love in these stands compared to say a cheaper "Impact" brand of stands.
I guess my only complaint would be that I always want my equipment as light as possible for travel, but at 2.2 lbs I think they're very portable and easy to carry.
The best option for a lightweight stand if you do not need anything over 6.5' !

i needed a small travel light stand that could fit in my travel case. the unit folds small enough around 19 inches.
for the size it is solid and well built.
it is not a substitute for as studio equipment.

Comments about Manfrotto 366B Basic Black Light Stand - 6.4' (1.9m):
This well-made stand is useful for continuous lights, as well as "Speedlite" flash units, including with umbrellas. I use them with Speedlites and Pocket Wizards. With two or three stands and a transceiver on the camera, one can take flash entirely off-camera for greater shooting freedom. The short collapsed size makes them ideal for carrying to assignments. I have taller and shorter stands, but these are the first choice for general use.

Comments about Manfrotto 366B Basic Black Light Stand - 6.4' (1.9m):
I use this stand to hold a small side light in my studio. There's really not much that can go wrong. The only problem with this stand is that the legs are 'sticky'- they don't open and shut easily. Fortunately I don't need to set it up and take it down a lot; otherwise it would be a pain.

Comments about Manfrotto 366B Basic Black Light Stand - 6.4' (1.9m):
I've used this stand to hold my reflector holder and 32 inch reflector. The height seems high enough (6 ft.) especially when placing the reflector hold straight up and down.
It seems to work well. The leg base is wide enough to support the 32 inch reflector and the reflector holder.
The surprise was in the weight of the stand. It is very light. If you are looking for something light weight, this is it. Otherwise, select the next larger stand.
Bottom line is .... it works.

Stand is well made, easy to use and very light to carry around. Good for studio or flash gun in the field. Might work with heavy lights or umbrellas outdoors if weighted or tied down. A good compliment to my other stands.

Comments about Manfrotto 366B Basic Black Light Stand - 6.4' (1.9m):
I choose this over the Manfrotto Nano only because of double maximun load and longer leg brace. It may be overkill just for a flash and umbrella, however, to me it seems more secure at the expense of just an extra 9'' inches closed length. It's still compact enough and worked great in the field so far. No regrets, once you get the hang of pulling the legs open with the right leverage, it's fast to set up.

I had a Bogen tripod before and it was very reliable and so I bought this Bogen stand for my strobist needs. It works great and won't get blow over unlike the other cheap offerings from other companies. This ones is the new one and is in black.
