The Porta Brace LI-2 LED Snakelight (Set of 2) is a flexible aluminum case light that has a magnetic base or it clips to a pocket inside a bag or any other pocket. The blue tinted light can be aimed in any direction. To activate the light, remove the switch protector. The light uses 3 LR44 batteries. It is about 6.0" long and weighs about 1.0 oz.

Comments about Porta Brace LI-2 LED Snakelight (Set of 2):
Very bright and convenient little light that magnets into place when trying to adjust things in the back of a rack unit.
Comments about Porta Brace LI-2 LED Snakelight (Set of 2):
These lights are handy to have on a camera to read rundowns or scripts.
However, they have the following negative:
1. Blue LED puts out unfocussed, low level of light, has very poor contrast and is uncomfortable on the eyes.
2. Uses three LR44 batteries which are expensive and more difficult to find than other battery types. Plus, not sold in quanties of three.
3. The batteries that came with the unit were dead.
4. The back that screws into the bottom to hold the batteries in is easily cross threaded and does not screw in tightly (it often pops out without help). The base is magnetic so the light can suddenly fall off the base and drop the batteries everywhere.
5. The goose-neck will only hold about 270 degrees of flex so it won't light straight up, only to the side or down (depending on the light is mounted.)
6. There is a plastic clip to prevent the light from erroneously being turned on. However, it must be removed to actually use the button with one's fingers. So they are easily lost.
Out of four lights that I have, only one really works good. A second seems to work but I need to find batteries for it.
On the positive side, they are inexpensive, the magnetic base holds fairly well to some metals, and they are lightweight.
