The headphones feature S-Logic Plus, an advancement to Ultrasone's S-Logic Natural Surround Sound technology that provides the same realistic, spacial audio soundstage in a more streamlined earcup. Comments about Ultrasone HFI-780 Closed-Back Stereo Headphones:
Great headphones for the price. I've researched, listened and bought my headphones to look for the pair that I like. I'm not an audiophile, but I would say that these headphones are definitely up there in terms of performance in this price range. It's better than the shure srh840 in bass performance and the clarity of both the high/mids are great...tho the shure are slightly crisper and more neutral sounding. Initially the bass might be strong, but as you burn them in it should settle down (the detail and tonality of bass are top-notch though). These are way better than audiotechnica ath-m50. In terms of the overall balance, I would say these are slightly bass heavy and warmer sounding than monitor headphones like ultrasone pro-750 or 650. That's not a bad thing though...these headphones work without an amp and works fine on mp3 players. It's still crisp and detailed with all the frequencies. Some people don't like the comfortablity, but I don't find any issues with it. If you find the pads too hard, you can buy beyerdynamic dt250/280 ear pads to make it softer and fit better. I think these are better balanced than the ultrasone hfi-580 too. Been a great purchase but not 5/5 because bass could be better, and it's also slightly heavy.
