• 48x Advanced Zoom: Canon's 48x Advanced Zoom extends the power of the 37x optical zoom for the longest Zoom available from the company. What's even better is that there is no loss of image quality, leaving you with clear, accurate video and stills in every shot.

• Dual Flash Memory Recording: Record directly to the 8GB internal flash memory for up to 5 hours in LP mode. There's no need to bring bulky tapes or easily scratched DVDs when you film with an internal memory. You can also record to SD/SDHC flash cards with the FS-10 for quick and easy uploading to your PC for emailing, printing or sharing on sites like YouTube. And because the camera only uses flash memory there are no moving parts, which means faster start up for capturing and replaying your footage in-camera.

• DIGIC DVII Image Processor: DIGIC DVII, unlike its predecessor DIGIC DV, is specially designed for HD image capture. Your video and still images will look better than ever in HD thanks to improved color reproduction for skin tones and light and dark situations. This processor also reduces image noise with two types of noise reduction for clean, crisp video and stills. There's more, the DIGIC DVII also provides for faster shooting of still images - up to 5 (3.1Mp) images per second.

• 1/6" CCD Image Sensor: The 1/6" CCD image sensor captures beautiful images each and every time, providing you the shot you want in rich color and tone.

• Electronic Image Stabilization: Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) keeps your video steady and safe from the age-old problem of hand shake.

• 2.7" Widescreen LCD Display: The 2.7" widescreen LCD display lets you compose your shots in the same aspect that your widescreen TV will play your footage back in. This LCD takes the guess work out of recording.

• Microphone Input: Virtually extinct in the the consumer camcorder market the microphone input makes a comeback in the FS-10 for recording audio with an external mic for superb clarity.

• Digital Still Image Capture: Capture 1152 x 684 digital still images to the 8GB hard drive or to an SDHC memory card for easy transfer to your PC or a PictBridge compatible printer for instant printing.

• Quick Start: The Quick Start features on the FS-10 keeps your camcorder in standby mode, when you press the Quick Start button, saving battery life. When you're ready to record simply press the Quick Start button and you'll be recording in less than a second.

• Joystick Control: Canon's joystick control makes it easy to navigate through the menus on your camera as well as using the basic functions of play, stop, fast forward and rewind.

• Variable Zoom Speed Control: This function allows you to select one of three pre-set zoom speeds for for clean, smooth zoom.

• Level & Grid Markers: Level and grid markers help you create well composed video and stills that are level and professional looking by preventing common problems associated with shooting landscapes.

• Program AE Mode: Program AE Mode takes the guess work out of shooting in a variety of settings. Don't chance not getting the moment because you didn't know how to properly set the exposure and other key settings on your camcorder. Let Program AE chose from Snow, Beach, Sunset, Fireworks, Sports and other settings automatically, depending on the situation.

• Low light Performance: Capture video even in dark settings. The mini video light on the FS-10 allows you to record subjects up to 4.9' away

• PictBridge: PictBridge allows you to connect directly to any PictBridge compatible printer with the included USB cable and instantly print out your digital still images. In addition, you can use your camera's memory card to transfer images directly.

• Bundled Pixela ImageMixer Software: The included Pixela ImageMixer software helps you organize, share and create slideshows of your video and still images with ease.

• High speed USB: The high speed USB connection allows for fast transfer of video and still images from your camera to your PC.
