So far it's a great battery. Time will tell if it holds it's charge.
When charging just the camera with the LCD closed it shows over 8 hours of charge.
With the LCD open, it shows over 7 hours.
With the XLR adapter attached to the AG-HMC40 the batter shows about 5.5 hours of charge.
Overall, this is quite remarkable.
My original battery has become my spare, and since I charge batteries regularly, I've yet to see this monster size one fully drain.
The battery fits like a glove on the camera just like the original one. It adds a little weight, but what do you expect for such a long charge? If that's a problem, get stronger hands.
I have a wedding to shoot out of state next month and I'm so glad I got this battery.
It takes a while to charge, but you can do that when you are not using your camera, duh... You can also alternate batteries and use one while the other is charging. These are brilliant Ideas I came up with all on my own.

If you're considering filming for any length of time, the bigger battery is an absolute must as the smaller one is good only for a short time before going flat!

When I found out that the batteries were different than the ones I have for the HPX 170 and I had to purchase new ones for the AG 160 I admit I was a bit disappointed. But these are really good batteries. I just shot 7 hrs with 2 and I didn't even have to touch the 3rd one! Overall the perform very well.

Fits securly on my AG-AC130. Awesome battery life around 3.5 hours. I had originally bought the PEARSTONE version of this battery but it did not fit tightly in on the AC130 and hence, if jiggled, the camera would cut off and turn back on. This does not happen with this battery. Works great.

Great battery especially if you compare it with the one that came with my Panasonic HMC 150. Takes a while for the full charge but worth it. NO it will never last 8 hours like they say but easily 5 to 6. I do weddings, local artists performances, Music videos, and Hunting videos. works great for all. I only give it 4 stars because Panasonic insists it last 8 hours when it does not, even when I turn everything extra off. No way Jose!
btw.....don't waste your time with a knock off battery...they never fit tight and can cause you to lose some great footage. Bite the bullet and pay for the panasonic.

4 stars for Panasonic locking down the AF100 to these batteries only, but honestly, its not the batteries fault. Just don't buy the off brands for the AF-100, they wont work.

I use this with the Panasonic HMC40. It fits the camera perfectly and dones't stick out too far. Actually balances things out quite well with having a shotgun mic mounted and a wireless transmitter for a lavalier mic. Didn't see any problem getting 5 hours out of this battery.

Two panasonic VBG6 batteries purchased 8/2/11 are completely DEAD... will not take a charge or even show as connected to a charger. Panasonic offers a short 90 day warranty on a this PREMIUM priced battery. What a waste of $$! I would not recommend this product.

I'm always reading on camera forums how the $30 versions of name brand batteries are just as good. Well, they aren't. My experience using second party brands is they go from being fully charged to empty in a short period of time. I will always buy Panasonic batteries for my Panasonic cameras.

You need to buy this battery if you plan on doing any type of real shooting, especially when using the LCD or powering a mic. With this battery I can shoot in any location and not be concerned I'll run out of juice. I usually get about 5 hours of shooting with LCD on while shooting on a HMC-150. Does take a good amount of time to fully charge however.
