This Gitzo GS5310LGS Aluminum Geared Center Column is for use with the Series 4 and 5 aluminum tripods in the Gitzo Systematic line. Since these tripods accept interchangeable center columns, this long sliding column can be used to take full advantage of the variable leg spread on these units, so that you are not inhibited by the length of the column as to how low you can go. It features a Power Disc with a head locking screw and a retractable hook.
The geared control of this column allows for even finer height adjustment, and, with its anti-rollback mechanism, it is more secure during raising and lowering of heavy photographic equipment.
