Comments about Sony KDL-52W4100 52" 1080p Bravia LCD TV:
I bought this TV after watching it at some friends house. It blew me away! My friend has had 3 members of his family buy it and I just ordered one for my brother. The only downside is a weird brightness auto-control that brightens and dims the TV with the ambient lighting in the room. I would like to be able to control it manually and have not been able to find a way to do it. Overall this TV is a standout!

Comments about Sony KDL-52W4100 52" 1080p Bravia LCD TV:
Motionflow 120Hz Technology works well for movies and everyday programming but the image blurs may still be noticeable in an inextreme case. The KDL-52W4100 only has 4 HDMI inputs unlike the new KDL-52W5100's 7 HDMI inputs that it is being supplanted. Very good black levels and bright picture. Sony's XMB (Xross Media Bar) user interface is easy to manage and navigate the control, menu, and settings. The sound quality is mediocre; yet this is typical of thin-panel LCD televisions. Get a "soundbar" speaker and a subwoofer to remedy this. (You will need a A/V receiver with HDMI inputs.) Overall the picture quality is truely Sony... simply beautiful! I have been a Sony fan since the days of Sony's WEGA XBR-series CRTs televisions; this is the best LCD you can get between its top of the line XBR-series and the L-series. B&H has very good price[...]. Thank you B&H for your great prices [...] for ten years now and counting...

Comments about Sony KDL-52W4100 52" 1080p Bravia LCD TV:
The TV: We bought this as our every day TV. (We have a projection theater for movies) Our family room has a lot of windows, so I needed a bright image and a matte screen. It was a good choice as there is no glare. I bought this TV without ever seeing it in a store, trusting the reviews and the fact that it's a Sony. I don't love the remote, but I will probably use the home theaters Harmony since I don't use the theater and TV at the same time. I waited 2 weeks before I reviewed. It's a great TV.
B&H: This was my 6th purchase and as always, satisfied with this merchant.

[...] The picture is stunning and this is an upgrade from an older, smaller Sony HD LCD TV for us. Functions are more easily selected than our older model (now in the bedroom!) Highly recommend this TV.

Comments about Sony KDL-52W4100 52" 1080p Bravia LCD TV:
Purchased Sony kdl52w4100 TV appr. 2 wks. ago. It has been outstanding. Picture is clear and crisp with sharp colors. Makes you feel like you're part of the picture particularly in outdoor scenes. Very happy with this product. High def w/full screen is really a pleasure to watch, but all programs are as stated above. We have in it a bright room but are getting very little glare on the screen.

Comments about Sony KDL-52W4100 52" 1080p Bravia LCD TV:
Great: Very clear picture. Nice remote. Normal good stuff you would expect from paying a bit more for a Sony.
Not so great: We have Comcast HD service. When changing channels from a non-HD channel to an HD channel, the screen goes black for about 4 seconds while the set "thinks about it" and then changes the channel. Not sure why it takes so long to do this. Changing between HD channels has no delay and neither does changing between non-HD channels.

Comments about Sony KDL-52W4100 52" 1080p Bravia LCD TV:
Purchased this to finally upgrade from CRT; needed large enough HD picture to not look too small from 10 feet away and this more than fits the bill. The Good: Picture is bright and very little glare is present even when viewed with open curtains over window directly across from the set. I had read other reviews noting relatively limited off-angle viewing with loss of contrast but I have not seen that at all. Sound is also excellent; I hooked up the stereo but for regular TV it is not needed; may well leave it off for movies sometimes as well. The TV has an optical sound output which is nice and 2 component inputs. Also nice is an HDMI input with paired analog sound inputs - this is perfect if you pair this TV with a Mac mini or other computer with DVI output since conversion of DVI to HDMI with a converter cable typically does not bring audio along. The Not so Good: Really nothing I can identify. We are very pleased with it. The menu controls not totally intuitive but not too complicated either. We bought it with a Sony Bravia Link BluRay player and the connection works as advertised. Overall: Very pleased with this purchase.[...]

Comments about Sony KDL-52W4100 52" 1080p Bravia LCD TV:
bought it on sale at B&H, and got for a real great price! expected more picture quality than in real, but not too bad. Form factor - Real bulky. needed some seetings adjusted and got online help by googling. even got some professionally calibrated settings and tried one with some minor my own changes and it's not up to my expectation(I know this is not the XBright or Samsung 8series).Need more bright backlight or contrast, I'm not sure. For the money I spend I'll recommend this to anybody. If they have got some [...] more go for the XBright or the Samsung LN52A850(watched these three TVs in a Retail store side by side and felt huge difference).Overall from 30" 720p to 52" 1080p, WOW! I love this TV for the price.Sound, I have a good home theater system and sure need one

I did a lot of research and knew what I was buying when I came to B&H. The TV is excellent: picture is great, user interface is intuitive and easy to get around. Glare is almost non-existent in my bright room. [...]

Comments about Sony KDL-52W4100 52" 1080p Bravia LCD TV:
As most will tell you, the picture is great. The TV functions really well. Interacts with my other Sony gear. The only draw back I see is the remote. It is 90% great, but about 10% of it's functions are not so hot. I wish the PIP/P&P worked more like the old WAGA's. It would be nice to be able to zoom them. I am super happy with this TV.

Comments about Sony KDL-52W4100 52" 1080p Bravia LCD TV:
After looking for a new television for the past year, I finally settled on this 52" Sony LCD.
I had pretty much been set on getting a plasma, but B&H had a good price on this set, and I've always liked the "natural" look that the Sony LCD sets had.
I'm glad I made the decision to purchase this TV.
My uses primarily include:
Dark room blu-ray movies, Baseball, Basketball & Football viewing, and a few shows on cable.
I don't console game very often, but I have a couple of times just to "try it out", and so far have not seen any real input lag or motion blur.
As for 120hz, I'm not completely sold that it really does anything. We have a 60hz LCD in our bedroom, and I see just as much motion blur on that as I do on this 120hz Sony. I'm typically pretty particular when it comes to image quality too.
Since my primary use is low-light (or no light) movies, I have to say that I'm impressed with the black level performance and dark shadow details.
While not the blackest, inkiest blacks you will ever see, it's more than better than my 5-Year old Toshiba CRT set.
The screen is fairly consistent, and I do not see any backlight blobs or any real backlight bleed. The top two corners have an ever so slight bit of bleed, but they all but disappear when anything is displaying on screen.
All in all I'm very happy with this TV, and am happy with the purchase. I love the menu interface, the number of inputs (4 hdmi, VGA, USB), the picture quality, the awesome sound quality and the overall feeling of refinement. You can tell that Sony has been in the business for a long time, and it shows with the Bravia TV's.

Fantastic picture. Crisp definition and brilliant colors.
Wall mounting very simple.
Nothing to complain about. There are cheaper 52" LCDs but none with the picture of this beauty.
Thanks Sony

Comments about Sony KDL-52W4100 52" 1080p Bravia LCD TV:
After getting bamboozled by another electronics chain that just went under ;) during their Christmas sale, then finding out in January that they would not get any shipments, we were back to square one with getting a new TV. So, i did some research and ended up here.
The TV is awesome. Good sharp picture and no problems thus far.
It does take a little bit of time to turn on.... not as fast as my old tv. The HDMI hookups were totally easy and the Bravia sync with the Blue Ray player we got was seamless.
Its a pretty easy set up, although I wish I new what I was doing to adjust the picture setting. Many fine tuning features available, but I dont have time to sit and go through it. OUt of the box it looked great.
Sound is very good- but I almost always have the big stereo going though.
No complaints... awesome price and value with this TV>

Comments about Sony KDL-52W4100 52" 1080p Bravia LCD TV:
This TV has exceeded all expectations! I was going to be content with a 46" LCD. My wife wanted the 52". I'm glad I listened to her!Picture quality, sound quality, easy of set up, etc... are better than what the professional reviews indicated. We considered a competitor's 52" A650 model but were quickly drawn to the picture quality of the Sony. A leading consumer report magazine also helped in making the decision as the competitor's repair record was reported to be not as good as Sony's. I must mention that this is our third Sony TV in 26 years but our first LCD. It is connected to a Sony Pro Logic Surround Sound system which is used occasionally. We have had the TV for about three weeks and it's been an absolute pleasure to view.
