Comments about Nissin Di28 TTL Shoe Mount Flash for Canon Digital Cameras with E-TTL II:
I use this flash as a fill flash and to add catch lights when I don't want to carry my 580 around. It fits nicely in my pocket. With TTL metering and flash exposure compensation (+1.0 to -1.0 EV in .5 EV stops) it is a great little (Guide No. 28) flash. Uses NiMH batteries.
Downside is that it is a bit slow to recycle (5.5 sec)and an adjustable head would be an improvement.
For the money and size it is a great little flash.

This little speed light produces lots of light, and it's small size makes it easy to carry to those out of the way places we like go to. It is also easy to use and comes with a handy bag and diffuser. I would recommend this to my friends.

Comments about Nissin Di28 TTL Shoe Mount Flash for Canon Digital Cameras with E-TTL II:
If you've got a canon pro body (5d/1dxx) this is a handy tool to have with you when travelling light. Using the attached diffuser does a pretty good job, particularly when all you need is some fill. I'd prefer a built-in for those times, but Canon disagrees. In those cases the di28 does a great job for what it is - a handy compact flash. It does fit easily in a jacket pocket, or even the large pockets of cargo pants.I carried mine around Disney for a week, and it was perfect for quick fill or even some night shots. I did use my 580ex2 some of the time, but it was a pain to get out of my backpack for quick grabs shots - that's when I was really glad I spent the [$] for the di28. The soft pouch is also nice; I clipped mine to my backpack strap or beltloop using a caribiner clip and it was right there ready for me when I needed it.The flash exposure compensation is easy to use as well. I was initially concerned that I would have to remember the various color code/FEC values but they are printed right there on the back. All in all, a nice tool.
