The Olympus Float Strap (Red) is made to keep Olympus Stylus SW series digital cameras afloat and easy to find in the water. The bright colored strap is easy to see in pools, lakes or oceans. It provides surfers, kayakers and other active swimmers with the ability to strap the camera to their arm, freeing their hands when not taking photos.

The strap floats and more importantly makes the camera (Olympus SW1030) float safely, bobbing on top of the waves or pool water surface.Would gladly buy it again, a bargain at [$] and of course would highly recommended it.Minor nit: the fiber loop used to loop it into the camera could be a tiny bit longer (a couple of millimeters would do)... it barely fits. Meanwhile the strap itself is big enough for a forearm-sized wrist (a little big on my wrist). But the latter is probably a function of the necessary length due to the 4 flotation pads.Great feature: the strap can be unclipped from the loop so you can take it off when in dry land, and to put it back, simply snap it into place without having to thread it again. A good thing because as I mentioned, threading it's a little tricky and tight. But you only do it once.Awesome performance all around.

That is likely, as it is not quite small enough for a small hand and wrist.

Comments about Olympus Float Strap (Red):
This thing is bigger than I expected. And uglier. As mentioned in the description it can fit on your arm but only if you've got thick arms. I added snap buttons to the two leather flaps so that I could secure it around my wrist and actually use it. Without snaps this thing is useless. Who wants to pull this thing down off their bicep every time they take a picture? Dumb design.

Comments about Olympus Float Strap (Red):
Whoever invented this float "nailed it". It's simple, cameras don't float. I was jet skiing with my kids Saturday, I wanted to be able to take photo's on demand. Normally i'd have to stop dig around for the camera etc. I just put the floatie around my wrist and away I went.

This is great if you want to make your camera float! If you have any underwater digital camera - don't risk it by swimming without one of these. The wrist strap is slightly big, so we might have to modify it a little. Overall - it does it's job!

This is a must have product if you are going to be using your water camera. I would have been a nervous wreck without my floating camera strap. Great product!

A definite must if you are using the 1030SW underwater.
The quick disconnect is real handy.
Lets you go from water to land quickly.
It would be nice if they provided a regular
strap that uses the same quick disconnect in the package.

Stop worrying about loosing your camera at the beach, with this strap you may toss it to someone in the pool/beach and the camera will float until they reach it. The red color makes it easy to find in the middle of the sea :)
The size of this strap is just right.

Comments about Olympus Float Strap (Red):
This strap is most useful for a comfortable way to keep your camera with you while participating in certain water sports. I kept it strapped to my arm while snorkeling and just slid it down a bit when I was ready to take photos or video.
It doesn't absolutely keep the camera floating on top of the water, but if someone accidentally dropped it, it gives you time to rescue it.
I didn't test it truly, for fear of not being able to get it back.
My arm is really small so the strap only stays put on my arm if I put it all the way up on my bicep, but for others it should fit comfortably on their wrist.
The bright color is great, both in the water and just in general. I sure don't have trouble finding my camera while it's in my bag.

Used in a pool on vacation. Worked great to keep Olympus 1030SW from sinking to the bottom. Also worked great to "nestle" the camera on the pool edge when not in use.
One warning - because of the padded strap area, you can only close the strap so far. The strap can easily slide off a smaller wrist.

Went swimming in the sea off the coast of Turkey. Had no problems taking underwater photos and knowing if i lost my grip on my camera, that it would float to the top! Great buy!

I attached the Olympus floating strap to my 770SW camera and dropped it in the pool. The strap kept the camera from sinking. The only problem I had was that the strap could be a little tighter for my daughters wrist. Overall the strap works great.

Comments about Olympus Float Strap (Red):
This product works exactly as advertised--it makes my camera float. I spent a few months being completely paranoid about losing my camera underwater...a trip to Doubtful Sound in New Zealand comes to mind where a fellow kayaker nearly dropped it into the tea-colored 400m deep water...and now I can have some peace of mind!Other reviewers have complained about the strap being too large and not cinching tight enough around their wrists. My wrists are pretty small so the strap certainly isn't tight, but I have found that it is just loose enough to not be constricting while doing activities while swimming and just tight enough to not slip over my hand without some serious effort.Overall, a good product at a good price. Even with shipping to Australia (Olympus doesn't sell the strap here for some reason), it was cheaper than buying non-branded straps here, which cost a whopping $70 in store!

We took our 850 SW Olympus camera to our white water rafting trip. This strap was easy to attach to our PFD while on the rapids (since we had to paddle), and very comfortable to hold while in the water. I have a small wrist, so it would have been nice to adjust the strap a little tighter.

Comments about Olympus Float Strap (Red):
I used this strap with the Olympus 850SW but it could be used with any waterproof point and shoot. I used it snorkeling in the open ocean in the Galapagos and really worked. I even tested it by diving to ten feet and letting it go. It popped up to the surface quick and the bright color attracted the attention of a curious sea lion swimming close by.
