The Kodak EasyShare Z8612 IS Digital Camera incorporates a 12x Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon aspheric all-glass lens with Kodak's image stabilization technology for sharp shots and steady videos. It records images with a resolution up to 8.1 megapixel, and features a 2.5" display, PASM modes, auto-image enhancement, on-camera cropping, histogram and a vast array of user-friendly features. Furthermore, the advanced controls available allow users to dive into photography and achieve more satisfying results while Kodak's proprietary color science chip yields pictures with natural details, accurate flesh tones, and impressive color. The camera also records VGA quality video at up to 30 frames per second in the universally compatible QuickTime video format.

Absolutely great camera! Love all the features! the only thing that could be better is the lens cap is too smal and falls off and there is no viewfinder but you learn to live without it, other than that it's a wonderful camera.

I've enjoyed photography many years, starting with 35 MM and more recently Digital. I am not a professional and my knowledge is limited. I was some concerned that I would be able to use the camera to it's full potential. An e-mail to your Tech's told me that I could use the camera successfully. I bought the camera and am glad I did. I am enjoying it and the programs provided by Kodak very much.

This camera is used primarily for a variety of Landscapes and Low-light portraits. The digital zoom is phenomenal and is the main reason I chose this model. It's one & only drawback is battery consumption for the normal CRV3 type battery. Especially when using the HD video function. I highly recommend the investment in the Li-Ion Rechargeable battery with charger for triple your still picture taking pleasure.
