The Delkin ImageRouter is designed for use by the serious or professional photographer who uses multiple cards on a shoot, and will save you a significant amount of time transferring your images to a computer. Plus, the included BackupandBurn software helps users manage the downloads by automatically renaming files based on user-set parameters, and provides the capability to copy files to multiple locations and automatically burn images to a CD or DVD.

Constantly having to load and unload cards from a reader means you are tied to your desk during the whole process. The ImageRouter frees you from your desk and greatly improves workflow efficiency by providing four CompactFlash card slots for simultaneous download. Users can also hook up multiple ImageRouter card readers, or other types of card readers for even more slots because the Imagewriter is also a powered USB Hub.

Four CompactFlash Card Slots
Designed with the professional in mind, the UDMA enabled ImageRouter can concurrently transfer data from up to four CompactFlash cards. Simply load your cards into ImageRouter, start the transfer, and walk away.
Built-In Powered Hub
If you have more than four cards of data to transfer, connect two ImageRouters together, load the additional cards and begin the transfer. ImageRouter has a built-in hub that actually allows you to quickly "daisy-chain" multiple units.
High Speed Data Transfer
The ImageRouter is a high-speed USB 2.0 reader that can achieve transfer rates of 29 MB/sec read and 27 MB/sec write with four UDMA cards inserted. Connect two ImageRouters together for transfer rates of 27MB/sec read and 25 MB/sec write with more than four cards.
Durable Design
The ImageRouter was built for heavy workloads. Its tough, plastic shell makes it the perfect card reader for any serious or professional photographer.
Broad Compatibility
The ImageRouter can be used with your favorite file import software or photo management programs. For maximum efficiency, however, users should use software that allows for transfer from multiple drives at once, such as Delkin's Backupandburn or Adobe's Lightroom. Furthermore, the ImageRouter works with Macintosh and Windows-based computers that are equipped with a USB 2.0 interface.
BackupandBurn Software
Delkin BackupandBurn Software (for Windows) automatically renames files based on user-set parameters. Users can specify how the files are re-named and re-numbered; for example, if you use multiple cameras at an event, you can choose to re-number the images based on the time the photograph was taken. You can even have JPEG and RAW files automatically sent to different folders, and images can also be copied to multiple locations and automatically burned to a CD or DVD. Add more ImageRouters and the software will recognize all slots as individual drives on your computer and read from as many cards at a time as you choose.

Comments about Delkin Devices ImageRouter Card Reader/Writer & USB Hub with BackupandBurn Software:

The router is pretty cool, let's you plug and download 4 cards at the same time. I have not done scientific speed tests, but just being able to walk away while 4 cards are being digested is cool.

The software is another story: it is overly complicated for what it does, and get this: it only downloads from one card at a time! I thought it was a mistake so I checked with their technical support, but no, this is how it was designed.

So get the kit that does not include the backupandburn software, you can always download a trial version to play with it. I just use windows explorer to do all the transfers at once.
