I bought the Sony CMT-BX20i for use in my basement while working out. My main interest was having good FM reception, an iPod dock, and a remote control that was full function for both the radio and iPod. This system fits the bill quite capably. Its FM reception is strong, and the iPod is crisp and clear. Speakers leave a bit to be desired, but I mainly use this system with headphones. The single-wire FM antenna is remarkably good, and when I added a simple di-pole antenna (about three bucks, including balun adapter from Parts Express), it picks up even more distant stations quite well. I have not used the CD player at all. Remote is easy to use once you read the materials (takes about five minutes to orient yourself). Styling is right out of the 80's, but it's in my basement so no big deal. I like the system...does the job for me.

Outstanding audio performance for price; paired with stereo Acoustic Research wireless (AW880) speakers for a great portable sound system; virtually no low frequency interference with 900MHz transmitter and speaker interfaces. CMT BX20I system is located in HDTV room and wireless speakers in kitchen or movable to either front or rear porch for excellent audio output. Excellent low and high frequency output from woopher and twetter.

This unit is used almost daily in a teen's bedroom. It has clear reception and decent sound quality. It's ready to use right out of the box and is easy to use. At first, I thought it looked a little flimsy, but after three months of use by a teen, it still looks new.

I use the system in my coffee shop. With it, I can play my own CD's, and if a customer wants to, they can drop their IPad or Pod into the port and play their own music. Good sound quality, with surprising bass response. My only critique is that the speaker leads could be longer.

I use the system at a summer cabin. Light, easy to store and set up. Used it recently for music at a small outdoor wedding. Not bad. Bass response is pretty good for a micro system. Next to useless: The remote.

We have this unit in our den/office at home. Audio is clean. It's significantly better from CD's than it is from the tuner. We don't have an Ipod so we can't comment on the quality from that device. Not much bass and next to no equalization available. It's fine for the price just don't expect sit and be wowed by it. It's a small little stereo with a small little sound that fits in a small room. You will NOT wonder how all that sound comes from such little speakers. That will be very apparent when you listen.

Small, awesome sound, plays music right off the iPod Nano and MP3 cd's, its definitely worth the money. Charges the iPod as well. Hard to beat. Stuck it in the kitchen on top of the fridge and that thing just pumps music. Even sounds great in the next room over!

Good sound quality and output power for such a simple and quite cheap product. Audio-in and iPod connector make it quite versatile.
Compared to few other small units, I found detachable speakers a nice idea if you have or want better speakers.

Easy to set up and sounds very good. AM and FM reception with antenna provided for each is excellent. Remote control is a little complicated but you get used to it. Sleek and black wiht a decent profile, although nothing special to look at, very fundamental appearance. Bought for the SONY reliability factor. So far so good.

I purchased this mini hi-fi system to have some tunes while working out in my garage. It fulfilled its purpose admirably. I like the compact size and very clear sound. It could use a little more base, however for its size, it does all right. If you need an inexpensive mini hi-fi system this is it, if youre looking for audiophile quality of sound and base keep looking and be ready to dish out some cash.
