Though it's a powerful DVD player, it can also be used as a CD or MP3 player, offering you the ability to share your favorite songs and photos with friends and family. In addition, it presents superb functionality and high-end features that will be hard to match, such as Precision Cinema Progressive, component video output, HDMI output, fast/slow motion playback with sound, and Precision Drive 3 System. • High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI): It features an HDMI output, capable of upconverting video signals to 720p/1080i and 1080p. This technology enables this unit to carry high-definition audio and video information through a single cable and achieving the highest quality picture and clearest sound available.

• Precision Cinema Progressive Scan: This is a progressive scan DVD player, capable of scanning an entire video frame at once; scan-lines commonly associated with interlaced video are drastically reduced. The result is a spectacularly clear image with no motion artifacts (stair-stepping), and details so sharp they seem as if they're etched onto the screen.

• BRAVIA Home Theater Sync: Go beyond simple audio and video transmission with the "one-touch play" remote control feature that allows you to easily manage select BRAVIA televisions and Sony HDMI audio and video components with the included remote control.

• Precision Drive 3 System: This powerful feature allows you to playback some DVDs that may have been damaged or warped without a degradation of picture quality.

• Built-in Multi-Channel Decoders: It has a built-in 192KHz/16-Bit digital-to-analog converter capable of reproducing Dolby Digital and DTS surround-sound.
