The Canon PowerShot SD770 IS Digital Elph Digital Camera provides a 10.0 megapixel resolution and a 3x Optical Zoom lens with Canon's Optical Image Stabilization system to produce excellent image quality, even under low light shooting conditions.

The camera incorporates the exclusive DIGIC III image processor which offers impressive response times and also powers Canon's unique Face Detection and Noise Reduction Technologies, making it easier for users to capture sharp, well-exposed images in any shooting situation.

The 2.5" PureColor LCD display has a tough scratch-resistant and anti-reflective coating featuring Night Display for easy viewing in low light. Even with all of these premium features, the PowerShot SD770 IS Digital Elph is still incredibly slim, measuring only 0.8" (21mm) deep, and possesses a clean, minimalist design that evokes the classic Canon Elph film camera.

10.0 Megapixel Resolution
The 10.0 megapixel resolution of the SD770 IS Digital Elph ensures that images are captured with all the detail needed for large photo quality prints.
3x Optical Zoom Lens
The genuine Canon 3x optical zoom lens on the SD770 produces images with all the clarity and brilliance you'd expect from a world leader in advanced optics technology. The 3x Zoom range can handle most typical shooting situations while the 4x digital zoom is included to get extra close with a combined zoom rage of 12x.
Optical Image Stabilizer Technology
The lens of the SD770 IS is equipped with Canon's acclaimed Optical Image Stabilizer Technology that automatically detects and corrects for camera shake so you'll get steady, crisp, brilliant images - under just about any shooting conditions.
Slim, Stylish Design
The SD770 IS has a chic, modern, minimalist design akin to the classic Canon Elph film cameras, with a classic Box & Circle design.
DIGIC III Processor
Delivering fast, responsive camera performance and superb image rendering, the DIGIC III processor also enables Canon's Face Detection Technology and Red-eye Correction to give you better, more true-to-life people shots. Furthermore, the processor incorporates iSAPS scene-recognition technology using an internal database of thousands of different photos to improve focus speed and accuracy, as well as exposure and white balance.
Face Detection Technology
Canon's powerful Face Detection Technology delivers impressive results - simply press the Shutter Button halfway down, and the camera automatically pinpoints the faces in the scene and chooses the ideal focus point. The camera controls exposure settings and flash to keep every face looking bright and natural. The SD770 IS also adds Face Detection White Balance - calculating white balance for the best possible skin tones. Furthermore, the Face Select and Track features lets the SD770 IS Digital ELPH user highlight one face among several in a scene, and the camera concentrates on that person, even as they move around the scene.
Motion Detection Technology
Motion blur is dramatically reduced by Canon's Motion Detection Technology which automatically detects subject movement and optimizes exposure control and ISO settings to reduce image blur. This sophisticated feature works in the background to instantly evaluate how fast your subject is moving. Then it automatically selects and sets the optimal exposure and ISO settings to keep everything looking sharp and clear.
Advanced Red-eye Correction
Canon's Red-eye Correction system lets you handle Red-eye problems in two ways. The Red-eye Correction can be applied during shooting by using the Face Detection Technology to recognize and remove red-eye from flash images as they're taken, before the file is written to the memory card. It's also possible to correct red-eye during image playback, using simple settings in the cameras menu.
High ISO to Reduce Image Blur and Expand Low-light Shooting
The PowerShot SD770 features ISO 1600 and High ISO Auto settings that reduce the effects of camera shake and sharpen subjects in low-light situations, or when shooting fast-moving subjects, giving you greater flexibility for shooting.
Flexible Movie Mode
You can select from VGA (640 x 480 pixels) and QVGA (320 x 240 pixels), with frame rates of 30 fps and 15 fps for more typical movie recording. Fast Frame Rate recording shoots QVGA video at 60 fps for extremely smooth playback or for motion analysis. Compact Movie Mode records QQVGA (160 x 120 pixels) resolution at 15 fps for up to 3 minutes to send video by e-mail or put on a website. Finally, Time Lapse records VGA video (640 x 480) at 1 or 2 second intervals then plays back at 15 fps for beautiful fast motion.
19 Shooting Modes and My Colors Photo Effects
The PowerShot SD770 has 19 easy-to-use shooting modes including a wide selection of Special Scene modes such as Portrait, Indoor and Night Snapshot, and you can quickly access these modes via the Touch Control Dial. The camera also includes My Colors photo effects which allow artistic photo effects to be applied in-camera both during and after shooting.
High-resolution 2.5" PureColor LCD
The 2.5" LCD screen provides vivid, high-resolution viewing and is protected by a scratch-resistant anti-reflection coating for easy on-camera viewing. Whether you're shooting, reviewing or showing off your images, the PureColor LCD screen offers a crisp, clear picture to make shooting, playback and using the camera's menu functions especially convenient.
Easy, Flexible Direct Printing Options
The Print/Share button makes direct printing easier than ever. Simply connect the camera to a Canon Direct Photo Printer or PictBridge supported printer, press the Print/Share button and print. The Direct Print feature allows for image preview and editing (including cropping) on the camera when connected to a compatible printer. Also use the Print/Share button to transfer images directly to a computer (Windows).

This is my second PowerShot camera (my first was an A75 which I had for five years but dropped one too many times). I liked my first so much that there was no question I was going to buy another PowerShot -- it was just a matter of picking which one, which was a dizzying process but I figured I couldn't go too wrong.

The SD770 IS is a great value for an avid but very amateur photographer like me. I use it mainly to take photos of my young children. I tend to use the "kids & pets" feature because my subjects are constantly in motion. And with the SD770, I have discovered the "continuous" mode which I am learning is great for capturing elusive shots of kids constantly in motion -- it just keeps taking photos until I release the button. I also find the feature that shows a close up of faces for reviewing shots to help me make sure a shot was in focus and no one looks weird (except in the ways they always do!). There is a feature for "locking" on faces to make sure the right thing is in focus, but I haven't been able to figure out how to use that yet! But I expect I will regularly use that feature, too.

The only negative that I have found to date is that it is so small I have a hard time holding on to it easily. I haven't figured out how to hold it comfortably for shooting.

Comments about Canon PowerShot SD770 IS Digital Elph Digital Camera (Silver):

This is a great, compact camera with great features and style. The camera looks great and is very easy to use. Two buttons are all you really need to use for basic operation - zoom and click. Extremely sharp, great focus and powerful zoom make for a great camera. The video feature is great as well, and transferring images is very simple and easy via USB cable.

Comments about Canon PowerShot SD770 IS Digital Elph Digital Camera (Silver):

Handy camera to carry around in my purse or even in my pocket at all times. Good for point and shoot situations. My main camera is a BIG DSLR (canon 20D)which isn't practical to carry everywhere. This canon elph gives me the opportunity to capture pictures I would've missed because I didn't want to haul my large camera. Lag time between pictures is obviously much slower than I'm use to with my DSLR. Other than that I'm very impressed with the quality of the images even in dark lighting situations.

Comments about Canon PowerShot SD770 IS Digital Elph Digital Camera (Silver):

It is a great camera. I love the screen that is bigger. It takes great pictures at night and very clear ones. I would strongly recommend it.

Comments about Canon PowerShot SD770 IS Digital Elph Digital Camera (Silver):

This is a wonderful little camera whether you are an experienced photographer or just starting out. And when I say "little" I am referring strictly to its size. However, its capabilities are huge. Photography has been a hobby of mine for over 50 years and today I am shooting a large Canon SLR as my main digital still camera - which I love. But I wanted a much smaller camera for day-to-day use so I chose the SD770 to stay with the familiar Canon interface. I am amazed at the range of features it contains! While not quite as broad as the SLR it compares very favorably with the larger camera in most respects. It covers the greater majority of the shooting situations most of us want and need. At the same time it is simple enough for a beginner to master with only a little study. Needless to say, at 10.1 megapixels you will get great quality photos and enlargements.

It's a good size, and very responsive. Not TOO complicated, but there are still a lot of features to master., e.g. over-riding the flash. Image quality is very good. Feels nice in the hand.

Purchased the SD770 as a back-up for my other Canon point & shoot prior to a two week Alaska trip. This camera was super easy to set up and operate. The digital zoom worked great! Very easy to operate (even one handed while sitting in a kayak in Glacer Bay). I highly recommend this compact camera. I think all my friends on the trip will be seriously consider buying one. Easy to operate, great pictures--can't miss!

Used on scuba diving vacation above but mostly under water.
Great underwater pictures. I used flash on for all underwater pics and lag time was a lot less than my old Canon.
It fits great in my purse for sightseeing on land.

This camera is very user-friendly and takes excellent photos! Pictures come out crisp and clear, and the time in between shots is very minimal. I purchased this camera to take pictures of my baby, and I can't wait to use it, because after experimenting with the features and taking other pictures, I have no doubt I will be able to capture some priceless moments. Also, the PC hookup and picture download is fast and easy--great for sending pics to all those family members and friends!
