Comments about JVC DR-MV100B DVD/VCR Combo Recorder (Black):
I bought this product because we have an antenna and still wanted to record video. This product is very easy to use. The menu system is super easy to use, the best I've ever used. I've owned a lot of electronics for recording, and it doesn't get any easier than this.I also bought this to dub 8mm video tapes to DVD. This feature is also easy to use and will upgrade to the latest media and preserve the memories. If you still have an antenna and want to record shows, buy this product. It has a built in digital tuner so you won't need the converter box. There's a reason this product in out of stock. I bought mine from B&H but I saw it at [...] for a few dollars more (mainly tax) if you want to buy it and get it right away.

Comments about JVC DR-MV100B DVD/VCR Combo Recorder (Black):
Generally a good device with excellent recording quality. However, the remote control is not comfortable to hold and has small buttons. A 'DVD' picture occupies the TV screen for a few seconds every time the JVC unit is turned on, and the display and recording speed functions will not operate while recording, which my previous VCRs would do. The biggest disappointment for me is that I cannot watch TV while recording a different channel. This unit is not as refined as my previous JVC VCR. It has many nice features, but it is also lacking a few that I would expect.

Comments about JVC DR-MV100B DVD/VCR Combo Recorder (Black):
Product performs as advertised. It works well when programmed. Programming is tedious. The user interface is not intuitive and menus go too deep. Unit takes about 15 seconds to power up.

Comments about JVC DR-MV100B DVD/VCR Combo Recorder (Black):
Okay, I think this is a good unit, but after 2 weeks of problems with the dvd timer recordings, it's been shipped to JVC Service. From what I could determine though, the unit seemed to be
of good quality.
2 negatives though. My old machine conked out and I had plenty of rw and r
disks which are unrecordable on this unit. It uses 4x dbd-rw or dvd+rw and 8x
or16x -r o +r discs. The others will play but won't record. Secondly, the re-
mote will only sync with other JVC pro-
ducts. So my Sony TV cannot be operated
with this remote except through the s-video. This means the volume control is
useless.
2 positives. First, I had a damaged disc
that my old machine wouldn't play. The
JVC has a way of retrieving it and it
played afterwhich I tossed it. Old discs
can be used in this way, but should be disgarded when the message comes on.
Secondly, my old dvd-rw 1X-2X discs ac-
tually played on the JVC without finalizing. This was a very pleasant surprise.
Other than the trip to the factory, it
semmed like it was going to be an up-
grade from my 4-year old GO Video.
