Photographing in Iceland brings up quite a few issues. There is always somewhere salty air, sandstorm, snowstorm or, like now plenty of volcanic ash around. It can drive you crazy if you want to keep your staff in good shape for anytime use. I just finished cleaning my lenses from a shooting in the ashcloud of Eyjafjallajökull and oh my gosh, it looked like a nightmare! But headover knocking, soft blowing and then using brush and humid wipes made the magic happen. The glass looks like nothing ever happend. No marks, no stripes. Same story while applying it on saltwater marks. I tried several other solutions and products before but none worked as satisfieing and quick as this one does.
Like people before me reported, there are some issues with the brush itself. Dunno if it is siliconmarks or something else, but no matter how careful you are, you will get some lines, so you always have to apply the humid wipes afterwards. I am not using the blue microfibre wipe since it seems to desintegrate (blue fuzz all over). The liquid solution in the bottle works fine, but it is hard to dose. Always spray it in your wipe and not directly onto the glass!
I mostly use the pre-humidified wipes. Quick, easy and best results. The pocket makes organiseing your bag a piece of cake ...

When ordering this kit I was hoping to finally get a professional quality cleaning kit from a respected name - Carl Zeiss. I however was mistaken in choosing this product simply due to the fact that the cleaning cloth is a joke. The build quality of the components isnt necesarly "cheap", however no matter how hard you try the solution/cloth combo leaves residue guarenteed, residue that will get in the way of your lenses and clarity of your photographs. Its insane to think that a cleaning system actually makes matters worse. It cleans the initial problem, and leaves its own residue making the whole situation worse. I highly recommend NOT getting this product and choosing a properly designed and thought out product.
However, to be devil's advocate, I may be using this entirely wrong, in which case I recommend taking this review with a grain of salt.

Cleaning is one thing I should frequently do with my camera and lenses and yet I tend to delay doing it. This kit inspires me to clean more often because everything I need is in the package. I just carry the kit with me and I grab it and use it when ever I am just killing time waiting for the right scene to happen.

I take this kit with me wherever I go. Works great! I use the packets for cleaning all my L series Canon Lenses in the field, and I have had no problems. They remove any smudges and dust as expected.

This is a pretty handy kit... It comes with individually packaged, moistened towelettes to clean your gear, as well as a great quality micro-fibre cloth and cleaning liquid. I used it the day I got it and cleaned my lenses... I have to say it was almost like a brand new lens all over again...
The only problem I have is that it doesn't come with very many of the disposable towelettes...

The Zeiss Lens Cleaning Kit is a great little product and meets my lens cleaning needs in most situations in which I find myself. When I am in field the brush, cloth and wipes pack up into a portable case that keeps everything together and fits nicely into my bag. If one of my lenses needs to be cleaned then I don't have to wrestle with a bottle of fluid. I just brush off the lens with the included brush to remove loose dust, tear open a wipe, clean the lens and polish it with the included cloth. The fluid on the wipes evaporates cleanly and without visible residue. Back in the studio I use the included bottle of fluid in place of the wipe. The only thing missing from the kit that I like to have on hand when I am cleaning a lens is a rocket blower. Where the kit is not inexpensive for this sort of thing, including a rocket blower might not have been a bad thing. Then again, most every blower I have ever seen included with a cleaning kit has been either too small or to cheap to be effective so to my mind it is better to go out and pay the money for a proper full sized blower. Like I said, the kit is expensive but so are my lenses. Zeiss is a respected name and having good cleaning supplies that I can take with me is worth it to protect my investment in quality glass. Recommended.

I love Zeiss lenses and to clean them I bought this Zeiss Lens Cleaning Kit which comes with just about everything you need except for a blower.They include a small pouch with belt loop so you can hang this to your belt.
