Comments about Canon ACK-DC40AC Adapter Kit:
[$] more for a feature that should be designed into the camera already? Why can't the camera get power from its USB port? The camera may not fit onto your tripod mount with this adapter kit in place. If the power cable falls out during use, it could "damage the camera".

Comments about Canon ACK-DC40AC Adapter Kit:
This is the AC adapter for the Canon S95 (and probably S90.)
In case it's not clear, this PSU includes a fake battery that slides into the camera. After you close the camera, you lift a rubber stopper in the battery door to reveal a hole through which you plug the ACK-DC40 into the fake battery.
This means that the bottom of the cam has a small plug protruding down. (The cam will not sit flat.) For the Canon S95: If your tripod plate has a larger radius than 34mm (from screw centerpoint to right edge) than the plug will keep you from mounting the cam.
Otherwise, it works as advertised. (Still not sure why digicams don't charge via USB like every other small device.)

Comments about Canon ACK-DC40AC Adapter Kit:
Very nice if you want to do some light editing of the video. Also if showing you pictures on a TV screen, it's nice not to drain the battery. Actually not absolutely needed, but nice to have just in case.
I put only 4 stars because it's a bit large.

Comments about Canon ACK-DC40AC Adapter Kit:
Wanted a way to plug the camera in to AC to charge the battery without removing it from the camera every time since the USB does not do so, but from manual that came with the unit at least it appears this just runs the camera on AC (virtually useless) and you still have to remove the battery to charge it. Seems like a silly oversight in an otherwise very nice little camera.

Comments about Canon ACK-DC40AC Adapter Kit:
AC power supply for Canon S90 substitutes adapter for battery with plug though trap door in the larger battery door. If attaching to tripod, make sure you have clearance for the plug. Adapter works well and allows camera to be used in remote control applications.
