The JVC (Refurbished) HMD-H5U is an S-VHS/D-VHS digital player and recorder. It uses the MPEG-2 codec for recording standard NTSC sources. The VCR can record from Firewire, S-Video or Composite Video sources like camcorders, cable boxes or standard TV tuners. Content can be played on HDTV sets with 1080i, 720p, 480i or 480p displays. It is also D-Theater compliant so it can play any D-Theater prerecorded tape. For HDTV playback, it is compatible with all 18 ATSC broadcasting formats, and has a built-in TV tuner.
