The strap that was included with the Ranger kit broke after about 1 week, and I was looking for a good solution to getting the battery/ranger out of the case on a shoot. I saw a Crockett video, and he had this fancy harness for the Ranger. It is really super. It is really strong construction. The Ranger is loaded into the harness by undoing 3 quick clips. The top of the harness extends a little beyond the Ranger to protect the top, which contains most of the electronics. The bottom surface protects the unit from getting scratched. It has a great shoulder pad that makes lugging the Ranger in the harness easier. Best of all, the Ranger can be used to weight down your light-stand, no need for a sandbag. Works great.

There are a few things I would like to see it improve it's usefullness:
A short handle. There is no easy way to pick up the Ranger pack and a short handle on the Snappy would have facilatated that.
Do away with the elastic part of the strap. The pack is too heavy for it, and I don't want any give in the Sanppy.
Put the strap attachment points at the back of the Snappy, not in the middle. Better ceneter of gravity while carrying.

Comments about Elinchrom Snappy Nylon Harness for Ranger Series Power Packs:
I picked this harness up to reduce the strain on the latches connecting the battery to the control panel as the standard included shoulder strap, although functional, does nor provide any support from the base of the battery. In reality, this strap should be included as a standard component as I suspect that over time, the wear and tear on the latches will probably become loose or break from constant pulling on the standard strap.
I have not experienced this problem but as the saying goes, an ounce of prevention...besides I use the harness for my Ranger RX and like a standardized approach to my work.

Comments about Elinchrom Snappy Nylon Harness for Ranger Series Power Packs:
The super cheap connectors between the strap and the actual harness will break without warning. After the first one which I returned, the second broke in the same spots, so I replace the cheap plastic with quality carabiners and now this thing is 5 stars. Awesome idea, cheap build quality.
I use it on a Ranger speed rx as.

Comments about Elinchrom Snappy Nylon Harness for Ranger Series Power Packs:
This harness is very well made, Fits my Ranger like a glove. What I like is it doubles as a weight (sand bag) on the light stand when I work on location while protecting the power pack. It also looks great, very professional.

Comments about Elinchrom Snappy Nylon Harness for Ranger Series Power Packs:
The Snappy Nylon Harness just fit my Ranger RX Power Pack perfectly. The shoulder strap is much better than the original shoulder strap provided by the Power Pack and it helps reducing the weight when carrying around. The outlook is professional when fitted with my Ranger RX Powerpack, highly recommeded if you own a Ranger Power Pack.
