I really like this little guy. It small, light and cheap. Amazing picture for the money. Perfect for mobile presentations. Looks great on an 84" screen.

Comments about Viewsonic PJ513DB DLP Multimedia Projector:
It's for use in a classroom as a presentation tool for middle school language arts and science. Good, chrisp graphics that displays well in normal classroom environment with part of the lights off. The remote provides access to lots of features, but the menuing is intuitive once you get there. For non-geeks, this first step may be a little challenging, but don't worry, it passes quickly. Was a bit concerned about a rattle when we got it, but it worked fine even after the flight to Colombia for the classroom. With the cost and quality, I am considering a second one for home.

Comments about Viewsonic PJ513DB DLP Multimedia Projector:
I bought this projector to use on the deck to watch movies. Picture is plenty bright in the dark, even in economy mode. Blacks are truly black, colors are true, and motion is smooth. 800 x 600 is slightly more resolution than a DVD, but it is not HD. You will see no difference with a blu-ray connected to it vs. a DVD. I bought a 50 inch screen, and the picture always looks just slightly out of focus at about a 10 feet viewing distance due to the maximum resolution this unit can reproduce. It's not bad, you can just see it's limitations if you're obsessed with video like I am. But, for the price you can't complain. Any projector would look the same with a DVD as its source projecting a 50 inch wide picture.I bought a component to VGA adapter for about[$] at a computer store. With movies in 2.35:1 aspect ratio, I set the DVD player in widescreen, progressive scan mode and then use the projector's DIGITAL zoom to chop some of the edges off to create an approx. 1.85:1 ratio. This increases the resolution considerably since almost half the available pixels would be taken up to display the black bars for 2.35:1 (native ratio of the unit is 4:3- square). The MANUAL zoom is pretty much useless. It's really only good for fine tuning. You'll have to play with the distance the unit is from the screen to get the screen size you want. This is my first DLP product and the rainbow effect is present. At first I found it a little distracting, but then I got used to it. I now watch for maybe 15-20 minutes without noticing it. You'd have to spend $1000+ to get a DLP projector with three separate color wheels to prevent this effect. IMO, rainbow is better than the screen door effect and gohsting that are cons of LCD projectors. Also, bulbs are about [$].

Comments about Viewsonic PJ513DB DLP Multimedia Projector:
For the price this projector was a perfect fit for my purposes. I run a DJ and presentation services business. I needed a projector that was inexpensive, easy to transport and had a sharp picture. This unit fit the bill. Watching movies on it was great, this was with a standard NTSC component input from a DVD player. Connecting it to my laptop for power-point was equally sharp. I look forward to trying it out with and HD input.
